Rihanna is venturing into new waters with her first big-screen acting gig! The singer has signed on forBattleship, the film adaptation of the classic board game, except, you know, with Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard and aliens. The premise makes this one sound like a risky project to use as your big debut, so here's hoping it's not yet another singer-to-actor sinker, like Glitter was for Mariah Carey. What do you think—does Rihanna have what it takes for movies? Or should she stick to her music?
Victoria Beckham is front and centre for the August issue of Turkish Vogue. The stylish star is currently enjoying a Summer of fun with her boys and husband, David, including a stay in the South of France and frequent trips home to London. David, though, broke from their vacation to film an appearance on Britain's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross in which he chatted about having more kids—he also opened up in an interview with Yahoo about how he still romances Victoria. Victoria herself will break from relaxing in order to show her next installment of her Victoria Beckham Collection, which will be shown in NYC during Fashion Week in September. Eclipse was just released a month ago, so it's time to start directing all our Twilight attention to the next installment, Breaking Dawn. Hence, we have some casting news! Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace is rumoured to be in the running for the role of Garrett, a nomadic vampire and a member of the Denali clan, as well as a close friend of Edward's. Ever since Bill Condon signed on as Breaking Dawn's director and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg talked about the direction of the script, I've been waiting to hear more details about the movie. Pace is not necessarily an actor I would have expected to see in the Twilight saga, but as a fan of his, it's exciting. Can you see him as a vampire? And what other Breaking Dawn casting are you curious about?
It’s the Great Australian Man Drought™ and city chicks have got to cast the net wide to find love in The Lucky Country. Five lonely famers reckon they can snag a sheila in the new series of The Farmer Wants a Wife. (There is also one lone female farmer looking for love). I came thisclose to auditioning for the show, but decided I’d rather wait until they create a series called The Venture Capitalist Wants a Wife. I actually think this is one of the better reality shows on TV because the farmers are so sweet and you just want them to find a nice girl. Will you be tuning in tonight at 8:30pm on Channel Nine?

One of my most memorable moments from this year's Comic-Con was when I had a chance to sit down with the cast of Thor to talk about the blockbuster comic book adaptation. First up, Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings talked about what it was like to work with each other, newcomer Chris Hemsworth and director Kenneth Branagh. Then, Hemsworth talked about taking on—and bulking up for—the role of the God of Thunder. How did Chris Hemsworth stack up as Thor? Natalie Portman: Chris is fantastic. He is truly, truly talented. He can do anything. He's got a great sense of humour, he's got great emotional depth. He's a very, very smart guy and he's so nice. He's truly, genuinely, a wonderful person. He's exactly the kind of person who can handle this situation. Because you know it's a big, big deal, and he's able to have perspective, know what it is, and he's so kind. He's just a really great guy. Kat Dennings: He's got a good family. We met his parents—they're lovely. He's just a good person.

In this week's episode of Australia's Next Top Model, we learned all about denim, new diets and teenage girl gangs. Let’s take a look at the highlights:
History Lesson: Once again the girls had no idea who a style icon was. This week it was Brooke Shields instead of Grace Kelly. And no, she was not the one who “spread her legs on a movie.”
Going Viral: The contestants had to film a promo for Jeans for Genes day with model Erin McNaught. Sophie channelled Paris Hilton, while Kimberly talked about her “grabbable butt”. Cringe.
Channel V: The big challenge this episode was presenting alongside Danny Clayton at Channel V while Renee Bargh and Charlotte Dawson judged. This would have been nerve-wracking enough, but the girls had to do their own hair, makeup and wardrobe. Mwahahahaha.
Joshua Jackson put on his best oversized bowling shirt and headed to San Diego this weekend for 2010 Pacey-Con, a celebration of the "greatest television character in television history . . . ever . . . period" from his former show Dawson's Creek. Unfortunately, his celebration of all things Pacey Witter ran into a bit of a snag thanks to the much larger event going on next door: Comic-Con. Just when we thought we couldn't love Joshua any more, this video is awesome. He reads some fan fiction aloud, tries to break into Comic-Con to find "Pacey-heads", and reveals the real reason he works on Fringe is to fund his convention. Don't miss any of our coverage and videos from the weekend's panels—long live Pacey-Con!
