Now that Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are engaged, we can't help but get excited — it's Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen! Thanks to their breakout roles on Gossip Girl and The OC, Leighton and Adam have cemented themselves as a match made in teen-drama heaven. Sure, they aren't really their characters, but it's fun to look back at how their onscreen roles may have paved the way for this upcoming union. To celebrate the couple's big news, let's examine why Blair and Seth are perfect for each other, on screen and off.
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are engaged. The couple, who first went public with their relationship back in February, have yet to directly comment on the news, but multiple outlets are reporting that the two are indeed getting hitched. The pairing appears to be a match made in TV heaven as both Leighton and Adam have earned strong fan followings for their work on teen shows. Adam famously portrayed the adorably emo Seth Cohen on The O.C., while Leighton played Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. The two met while working together on the set of the 2011 film The Oranges. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Also out? Kate Middleton, who stepped out for her first official engagement since the birth of Prince George, and Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, who showed off their love during a trip to New York City. That's not even the half of it — click through to see what else your favourite stars got up to this week!
In case you were wondering, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are still dating. The pair brought their PDA to the East Coast for a hand-in-hand stroll in NYC's SoHo neighbourhood yesterday. Adam and Leighton were last spotted together during a coffee stop with their dogs in LA last month. The pair, who have been romantically linked since February, are able to spend a bit of downtime together for now since Adam recently wrapped promotions on his latest big-screen project, Lovelace, which comes out in Australia on Sept. 26. His free time will soon come to an end, though, as it was announced that he will be one of the guest stars to hit the Fall TV season in the US with a cameo on The League.
Amanda Seyfried donned a sexy Gucci mini dress to hit the red carpet at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre for the LA premiere of her film Lovelace last night. Amanda had the help of her co-stars Sharon Stone, Chris Noth and Adam Brody for the West Coast debut of the movie, which releases in Australia on Sept. 26. Also in attendance for the premiere were Amanda's directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.
Although much of the close-knit cast turned up for last night's red carpet festivities, Amanda's co-star Peter Sarsgaard, who plays her abusive husband, Chuck Traynor, in the film, was missing from the action. Peter and Amanda did sit down together for a recent interview with US GQ, in which they discussed filming their sex scenes for the biopic about 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace. Peter admitted, "To be honest, that was, like, the least of our worries. It wasn't that bad. I mean, it was weird at first," though, he did go on to reveal, "I've been having a whole crisis with acting. I've lost my taste for both violence and sex — in movies, in any case. To be honest, while we were doing the movie, it was fine. But in retrospect it makes me feel uneasy."
It's hard to believe, but The O.C. — aka the defining teen soap opera of the early 2000s — premiered 10 years ago this week. While the show has been off the air since 2007, its cultural impact has lasted through the years, including its hand in launching reality TV's fascination with the Southern California county. But did the lead actors' careers survive after the show was cancelled? Click through to find out what Rachel Bilson, Adam Brody, Mischa Barton and other cast members have been up to since The O.C. faded to black.
Amanda Seyfried had a busy but glamorous day promoting her new film, Lovelace, around NYC yesterday. She started out her morning by joining her co-stars Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Debi Mazar and Adam Brody for a press conference to discuss the biopic, which tells the story of 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace, who rose to fame through her iconic adult film, Deep Throat. After her morning of interviews, Amanda made a quick change into a pink-and-white Balmain ensemble for a stop by the Late Show With David Letterman, where she was accompanied by her dog, Finn, for the appearance. Later on in the evening, Givenchy-clad Amanda rejoined her Lovelace cast, Peter, Sharon, Debi and Adam, on the red carpet for a screening of the film. Also in attendance for the film's NYC debut were her co-stars Chris Noth and Hank Azaria, as well as the film's directors, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. The cast and crew continued the fun at a rooftop afterparty following the screening.
It's been a week full of interesting pairings — some we've seen before, others not so much. Kristen Wiig and Pharrell Williams paired up to celebrate new film Despicable Me 2, which Kristen voices and Pharrell wrote the music for, while hot new couple Leighton Meester and Adam Brody made their official debut as a couple. Katy Perry and John Mayer look like they're back on for now, and Mick Jagger faced an interesting situation when he found himself at a party with both his ex-wife and current girlfriend. In true Mick style, he looked completely at ease. Meanwhile, Miranda Kerr kept cool on the hot streets on NYC, rocking a pretty sundress and showing a bit of leg. Adam Brody had his girlfriend, Leighton Meester, by his side to celebrate the premiere of his film Some Girl(s) in LA last night. He also linked up with his co-stars Jennifer Morrison and Mia Maestro on the red carpet to debut the film ahead of its release in NYC and LA on Friday. While he walked the carpet with Jennifer and Mia, it was Leighton who had his arm as they left the after party later that evening, marking their first public event together as a couple. The pair began dating back in February and have been sneaking in dates together around LA ever since. Most recently, Leighton showed skin for a breakfast date with Adam over the weekend. They will also be hitting the big screen together soon since they are currently working on their latest collaboration, Life Partners, which is due out in 2014.
