Saturday's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in LA was a family affair for stars including Rachel Zoe, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selma Blair, and Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romjin. The India-inspired event also drew Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend William Tell, who were spotted cosying up to each other in the VIP tent, Twilight star Ashley Greene, and Justin Long, among others. We spotted Justin horsing around with Jerry and Rebecca's twin daughters during the kid-friendly party, where fellow mums Rachel and Alessandra also did some bonding with their little ones.

The match was a close one, but polo star Nacho Figueras' team reigned supreme with a score of 10-9 after actress Ali Larter kicked things off by throwing out the first toss. Rachel presented the Ralph Lauren model with an oversized bottle of champagne during the awards ceremony, during which he was honoured as the day's MVP, with her son Skyler Berman and husband Rodger Berman by her side.

We've gotten so accustomed to seeing statement lips/eyes/brows/hair/everything at the many celebrity events each week that when stars step out looking natural — like they have done at the Third Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles yesterday — we actually get a little bit excited. It's so nice to see clear, glowing skin, natural lip colours and hair that looks carefree and easy to copy (very important, obviously). While each gorgeous celebrity had a key feature to make them stand out — Lauren Conrad's curls, Rachel Zoe's lip, Mandy Moore's alabaster skin — they all looked like they were happy to be in their own skin, using makeup only to accentuate the goods that they've all already got. Variety hosted its annual Power of Women luncheon yesterday at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event, which celebrates influential women in the entertainment world, brought out a long list of bold-faced names. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were in attendance after stepping out for the LA premiere of Argo on Thursday night. The couple were among the presenters at the event, which spotlighted several actresses and their charitable contributions. Inside the lunch, Jessica Biel and Jennifer were seen catching up side by side at their table and posing for pictures together. On Thursday night at the Butter premiere, Ashley Greene proved that monochromatic makeup isn't a boring bet. Her matching pink eyes, cheeks, lips, heels, and Donna Karan dress were ladylike and chic. The key to mastering this palette is to choose different textures. Even though Ashley wore very similar shades, her cheeks were a matte flush, her lips had a glistening gloss, and her eyes were lined with shimmer. Ashley's flushed look was all tied together by her rosy cheeks. To get a similar effect, extend blush a little above the apples to help link the colour to the eye makeup. Try Inika Mineral Blush in Rosy Glow ($45). You can also use a bit of blush underneath the brows as an added highlight. Then, apply a pastel metallic shadow to lids and underneath eyes as liner. Finish with a swipe of sheer candy-coloured lip gloss and you're good to go.

Jennifer Garner made a red-carpet appearance with the cast of Butter at the NYC premiere on Thursday night. She chose a strapless Gucci gown for the occasion, which came after attending a press conference earlier in the day. Jennifer had Ashley Greene; Olivia Wilde, in Alexander McQueen; and Ty Burrell by her side for both events. Co-star Alicia Silverstone missed out on the promotional stop but joined them for the screening and later at the afterparty sponsored by Appleton Estate Rum. Jennifer, Alicia, and Olivia mingled with Harvey Weinstein at Double Seven, where they celebrated their premiere. While Jennifer is working in NYC, her husband, Ben Affleck, is on the West Coast. He attended a charity dinner on Monday night and was spotted grabbing lunch on his motorcycle on Thursday.

Miranda Kerr and her husband Orlando seem like permanent Sydney fixtures after spending a few weeks here, and we were happy to see them out and about and looking as loved up as ever. Overseas, Robert Pattinson joked about being homeless with a talk show host, while Gwyneth and her friend Jake G hit up a screening of Jake's new movie in the Hamptons. Not to be outdone, a slew of stars like January Jones and Hilary Duff showed off their accessories of choice — their cute little kids! Glee's Lea Michele and Cory Monteith showed PDA before heading inside the Barker Hangar to mingle with other do-gooder celebs like Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, and even Ben Affleck. Ben was at the Do Something Awards to present the $100,000 grand prize to a youth activist. He was also honoured for his work in Africa on his Eastern Congo Initiative. The proceedings were run by the male stars of New Girl, Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris. The three stopped for a moment to pose with Joel McHale. The 2012 Do Something Awards brought out a slew of hotly-hued red carpet looks in Santa Monica today, reminding us that Spring is most definitely on its way. Kristen Bell worked a multi-coloured Jenny Kane Resort '13 sheath, Olivia Munn and Maria Menounos both opted for poke-your-eye fuchsia pink minis, Sophia Bush stood out in a tangerine floor-length number and Aubrey Plaza kept cool in cobalt. There was respite from the technicolour display however, with Lea Michele (in Armani), Giuliana Rancic, Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene all going for more subdued neutral hues.
