Blake Lively stripped down to a series of sexy swimsuits for the June issue of Vogue US. This isn't the first time Blake's had the fashionable honours, though her latest effort is decidedly more surfing-inspired. In the interview, Blake admitted that she had one ill-fated attempt at riding waves when she was little, but prefers "tranquil" scuba diving. Penn Badgley, who came along for the shoot, wowed his girl with his novice skills on the board. At the moment, Blake is focused on Green Lantern, which is keeping her abs more perfect than ever. Here are highlights from the interview:
- On her Green Lantern role: "All I want is to be a hero to my nephews and nieces. I'm going to be the coolest aunt ever."
- On the fight scenes: "Our director likes it real—the fights close and dirty. I'm 40 feet in the air, spiraling around. That's the best workout you can ever do because it's all core. You do that for ten minutes and you should see your body the next day! It's so exhilarating, so thrilling—and nauseating."
- On being back in California for the shoot: "I haven't lived in California for so long, but my New York guise is gone. Ostrich flats don't really work on the beach!"
- On filming in New Orleans: "There is so much heart. I love, love, love New York, but it's nice sometimes to have not so much to do—there's time to walk through the park and to cook."
