Solange Knowles, Bono and John Legend Keep the Music Coming at Studio Africa's Coachella Bash

Last night, Bono co-hosted a Coachella party that drew stars from John Legend to Joe Jonas.

Last night, Bono co-hosted a Coachella party that drew stars from John Legend to Joe Jonas. Bono's clothing company, Edun — which he co-founded with his wife Ali Hewson in 2005 — teamed up with Diesel to throw their Studio Africa soiree on the first official night of the 2013 festival. The brands launched the Studio Africa project this year as an effort to spotlight fashion, music, and other arts from the continent.

Solange Knowles played DJ for the night at yesterday evening's bash and Congolese-Belgian musician Baloji performed for the crowd. While plenty of the attendees — including John Legend — have a musical pedigree of their own, plenty of actors and other celebrities hit the party, which was held at a private estate in La Quinta, CA. John and his fiance Chrissy Teigen were spotted hanging out with stylist Brad Goreski, while Kellan Lutz, Teresa Palmer, Joe Jonas, and Mad Men's Jessica Paré rounded out the VIP crowd. Check out all the fun pics!

2013 Autumn Winter Paris Fashion Week: Stella McCartney

For A/W 2013, Stella McCartney showed off her signature sporty-cool aesthetic to an A-list group that included Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Natalia Vodianova, Bono, and, of course, her father, Paul McCartney.

For A/W 2013, Stella McCartney showed off her signature sporty-cool aesthetic to an A-list group that included Jessica Alba, Nicole Richie, Natalia Vodianova, Bono, and, of course, her father, Paul McCartney. A star-studded crowd indeed, but once the lights went down, all eyes were focused on McCartney's refreshing array of boxy pinstriped coats, flip skirts, cropped plaid jackets, and chunky-soled loafer shoes. "It was a redirection of Stella classics, things I do instinctively and effortlessly, so paying homage to Britain and its classic tailoring and inserting a new femininity, bringing a sensual woman into it all," said McCartney. The designer continued her story with an interesting array of knit dresses featuring intricate semi-sheer lace detailing, portraying a simultaneously tomboy yet luxe feel. Eveningwear showcased a lineup of effortlessly elegant strapless silk dresses with bold elastic banding, while others featured a kitschy "skate" print. There was also a covetable array of metallic, holographic bags that will surely make their way onto every fashion darling's must haves list. Other looks of note included Emma Watson's tartan McQ prom dress, Kylie Minogue's satin Dolce & Gabbana A/W '11 cocktail frock and Charlize Theron's elegant A/W '11 Roland Mouret number. Fab Ad: Angelina Show Her Core Values for Louis Vuitton

A first peek at Angelina Jolie's turn for Louis Vuitton's Core Values campaign was revealed over the weekend, featuring the actress in her own clothes, toting her own 6-year-old Vuitton Alto bag, and posing in familiar territory. The ad was shot by Annie Leibovitz in Cambodia's Siem Reap province, where Jolie shot Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in 2000 and first began her humanitarian activism. Jolie's ad is just one part of the design house's Core Values campaign, which will also feature Sean Connery and Bono, and run for the next 18 months. It's an understated portrait of the actress that goes way beyond the red carpet to highlight her humanitarian involvement. Do you think it's effective?

Music's Biggest Stars Rule the Billboard Music Awards

After a five year absence the Billboard Music Awards were back today, bigger and better than ever before!

After a five year absence the Billboard Music Awards were back today, bigger and better than ever before! Hosted by The Hangover’s Ken Jeong at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the night honoured some of the biggest names in music today, such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift, U2, Eminem and veteran Neil Diamond. Justin Bieber was one of the night’s early winners, and after his award for top new artist was announced he took the opportunity to kiss girlfriend Selena Gomez, who sat by his side throughout the show. Exciting and energetic performances were the talking points, starting with Rihanna’s sexy rendition of “S&M” with Britney Spears. When Beyoncé hit the stage to sing “Run the World (Girls)” she had everyone on their feet, and following that she was honoured for her music and humanitarian work with the Billboard Millennium Award. Cee Lo Green wowed the crowd with his medley of songs and rotating piano, while Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban also provided entertainment on stage.

2011 Fall New York Fashion Week: Edun

Fall 2011 New York Fashion Week: Edun

Bono and wife Ali Hewson founded Edun in 2005 with the intention using fashion as a way to promote trade and industry in Africa. Today, new creative director Sharon Wauchob debuted her second collection that was as much about the clothes as it was about Edun's underlying motive. The collection, entitled "Storytellers and Liars," played with notions of reality and fantasy. If the fantasy existed in the abstract prints and unfinished knits, the reality came through in wearable silhouettes: slim twill trousers, quilted bomber jackets, easy calf-length skirts. The stories were many: military, bohemian, urban edge — but they meshed together in a really effortless way thanks to Wauchob's spot-on tailoring and knack for balanced proportions. Choosing clothes with a conscience often requires some fashionable compromises, but here, it just feels like a bonus.

  • Trends: Textured knits, silk trousers, deconstruction, bomber jackets, longer hemlines
  • Colours: Earthy colors like olive, brown, grey, and cream.
  • Key Looks: A knit pencil skirt paired with a cropped bomber; a black knit maxi skirt with black blouse.
  • Accessories: Open-toe platform booties and brass charm jewellery made in Kenya.
  • Who Would Wear It: Urbane chicsters.

The Grand Finale of Oprah's Ultimate Australian Adventure!

After three massive nights of Oprah on TV, it all comes to an end in tonight’s episode of Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure.

After three massive nights of Oprah on TV, it all comes to an end in tonight’s episode of Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure. Oprah conquered our screens this week and we’ve seen her do it all — from getting up close and personal with a pair of mating koalas in Queensland to conquering the Harbour Bridge climb. Along the way she’s also seen the best Australian landscape (though Oprah’s camera lenses everything looks like a postcard) and met up with some of our best-loved stars like Russell Crowe. On tonight’s episode we see the second taping at the Opera House with guests including Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, U2’s Bono and Olivia Newton-John. We’ll also witness Hugh Jackman’s headline-making entrance and he’ll introduce Oprah to Vegemite. Yep, it’s all happening tonight! I have a feeling most of us will be tuning in, so get comfy and prepare to watch Oprah and her famous friends bring the (Opera) House down!

Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure concludes tonight at 7:30pm on Network Ten.
