Brad Pitt appeared to be in good spirits as he arrived at Paramount Studios in LA today. It has likely been an emotional couple of days for the actor and his family, as news of his fiancée Angelina Jolie's preventative double mastectomy was revealed earlier this week. Angelina's heartfelt and honest op-ed for the New York Times was published on Tuesday, and she spoke candidly about her decision to undergo the procedure after learning that she was at high risk for developing breast and ovarian cancers. Angelina will also reportedly be planning to have her ovaries removed as well.

Shortly after Angelina's article was published, Brad released his own touching statement to a UK newspaper, and spoke to USA Today about Angelina's brave and empowering decision, saying that "she could have stayed absolutely private about it and I don't think anyone would have been none the wiser with such good results. But it was really important to her to share the story and that others would understand it doesn't have to be a scary thing. In fact, it can be an empowering thing, and something that makes you stronger and us stronger."

Brad will also be back in the spotlight soon when he steps out to start promoting World War Z — he'll be in Australia next month — ahead of its June 20 release.

Inside the issue, various executives from Paramount, the studio behind his June 20 release, World War Z, talk about their much-publicised production difficulties. Among their troubles were a budget that spiraled to $200 million and having to make the tough decision to reshoot 40 minutes of the film.

Brad doesn't appear to be quoted directly in the piece, but screenwriter Damon Lindelof conveyed the actor's enthusiasm for making World War Z. Damon said, "[Brad] took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it. . . . But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to. My sense of it was he was taking responsibility." Rebel Wilson kicked off the 2013 MTV Movie Awards today with a little help from her pal James Franco and musical accompaniment from her Pitch Perfect co-stars. She told a handful of jokes before the golden popcorn presenting began, and Bradley Cooper was the first to win, coming up tops in the category of best male performance thanks to Silver Linings Playbook. Next, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson took home best WTF moment for Django Unchained. Samuel L. Jackson was able to pick up two popcorns in a row — he and his Avengers co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Chris Evans won for best fight.

Eddie Redmayne had fans screaming when he introduced 2013 Trailblazer Award winner Emma Watson, who had the support of her boyfriend, Will Adamowicz. Her This Is the End co-star Jonah Hill also had kind words for her via video and joked that they're going to star in the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation together. Later, another special honour went to Comedic Genius Will Ferrell — who was only briefly interrupted during his acceptance speech by "stage crasher" Aubrey Plaza — who commented that he had only two dreams in life: to make people laugh and to dress like Dennis Rodman every day. The show's final special designation went to Generation Award winner Jamie Foxx.

Bradley was soon back on stage for his second win of the evening. Even though his co-star from Silver Linings wasn't there, he accepted the best kiss popcorn on their behalf. Rebel turned from host to winner when she clinched best breakthrough performance for Pitch Perfect. To celebrate, she got a kiss from Zac Efron. And in what was possibly the biggest upset of the night, Taylor Lautner won best shirtless scene over Channing Tatum.

The evening wrapped up with a few particular highlights. Kim Kardashian showed her presenting skills to introduce Selena Gomez, who sang her new track "Come and Get It" for the first time publicly. Liam Hemsworth, additionally, went on stage to introduce a special clip from Catching Fire. Finally, a happy-looking Brad Pitt took the stage to present movie of the year to The Avengers.
