Hayden Quinn Crowned Cleo Bachelor of the Year at a Star-Studded Party

Last night more than 400 VIP guests, including celebrities and media, joined Cleo editor Gemma Crisp as she announced Hayden Quinn as Cleo Bachelor of the Year for 2012! The former MasterChef contestant accepted his prize, a $10,000 cheque from Revlon, on stage at The Star’s new nightclub Marquee. Johnny Ruffo, who was on tour with One Direction in Brisbane and couldn’t attend the party, placed second, while Celebrity Apprentice star Nathan Jolliffe came third. Ricki-Lee Coulter provided some entertainment and sang two of her hit songs, while guests mingled and enjoyed canapés, M&Ms and a makeup booth. We chatted to some of the stars on their way into the party.

Nathan Jolliffe on who he bonded with out of the other Bachelors: “I’m good mates with Corbin Harris. I’ve known him for a while from the living in the eastern suburbs scene. Also with Hayden Quinn — we’ve become pretty tight along the way. He’s a good dude. I think everyone’s really down-to-earth this year. We’re all just having a really good time and no one’s taking it too seriously.”
Ricki-Lee Coulter on who her Bachelor pick was: “One of my back-up dancers, Keiynan [Lonsdale]. He’s in the ‘Do It Like That’ video. We spent a couple of days shooting and rehearsing the video, and he’s just adorable.”
Hayden Quinn on how confident he felt about his chances of winning: “I don’t know. It’s kind of one of those weird sorts of things. I was talking to someone the other day about how people win stuff for doing something cool, like they win a medal because they ran fast or won a grand final, or they cooked an amazing dish and won a competition. This is just being you, and you can’t really work it very much, you’ve just gotta be yourself. So I just keep being myself and having a good time.”
Hayden on what he loved about being a Bachelor finalist: “You get to meet amazing people along the way. My life post-MasterChef, it’s all been about meeting new people. This is another of those opportunities. There are cool guys — they’re all smart, intelligent, not just good-looking. There are other traits as well.”
