Glee's season premiere is tonight (7:30 p.m. on Eleven), and we have official pictures of its Beatles-themed episode. The premiere's promo for "Love Love Love" gave us a peek at the joyful episode, and these pictures are even more fun. Click through to check out all the photos of the cast messing around at a carnival and just generally having a good time singing some classic tunes.
Today's Teen Choice Awards kicked off in LA with a performance by One Direction, plus an opening bit from Darren Criss and Lucy Hale, the show's hosts. Several celebrities hit the red carpet before the event, including Demi Lovato, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. Sporting a green dress with a double-slit, Selena Gomez made a stylish entrance to the event, where she was up for multiple awards including choice female artist. Lea Michele also gave a heartfelt, emotional speech about Cory Monteith alongside her Glee castmates after accepting the award for choice TV actress: comedy. Take a look at the best moments.
The good-hearted stars of Hollywood convened at Avalon for VH1's Do Something Awards in LA yesterday. Jennifer Hudson, who took the stage to perform with J. Cole, was recognised for her work with the Julian D. King Gift Foundation, which supports children. It was a heartfelt honour for the star since the foundation was created in honour of her late nephew, Julian. Kelly Osbourne, who had her new fiancé, Matthew Mosshart by her side, also took home a silver winged sneaker for her involvement with the Race to Erase MS charity. Kelly also holds a special connection to her charity since her brother, Jack Osbourne, suffers from multiple sclerosis.
The awards turned out to be somewhat of a couple's affair since the event's host, Sophia Bush, turned up on the yellow carpet accompanied by her boyfriend, Dan Fredinburg, while newlyweds Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, who held a star-studded ceremony earlier this month, giddily showed off their wedding rings on their way into the show. Other stars in attendance included Glee stars Matthew Morrison and Darren Criss, as well as Carmen Electra, Queen Latifah and LL Cool J.
It was a sad day for the cast of Glee, who gathered at Paramount Studios on Thursday in memory of Cory Monteith. Cory's co-stars — including Kevin McHale, Dianna Agron, Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz and Harry Shum Jr. — then met for lunch together, where they exchanged hugs and stayed close in support of one another. The memorial celebration came less than two weeks after Cory's sudden and tragic death, and the event reportedly drew over 150 people, including Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy. All of the guests wore black ribbons and shared memories and listened to music in celebration of Cory's life. Though Glee's production and premiere were pushed back to allow time for grieving, the cast will be headed back to work in August to start shooting season five, which will include a special tribute episode to Finn, Cory's character on the series.
Darren Criss showed his support for his co-star and friend Cory Monteith when he wore a simple black ribbon on his lapel during a Girl Most Likely screening in NYC yesterday. He had previously cancelled planned appearances on Good Morning America and Live! With Kelly and Michael earlier this week after news broke that Cory had died in Vancouver over the weekend. While Darren hasn't publicly commented on his Glee co-star's passing, many of Cory's co-stars have spoken out in support of the late actor's family.
Darren was joined at the screening by Kristen Wiig, who wore a Viktor & Rolf white frock, and Matt Dillon. The movie follows a failed female playwright who is trying to navigate through her life.
You can't say Donatella Versace doesn't know how to throw a party. Last night, she and designer Jonathan Anderson took over the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City to present the new Versus Versace and JW Anderson's first capsule collection for the brand. But this wasn't just any product launch. Versace managed to fill the space with everyone from industry insiders like Leigh Lezark, Eniko Mihalik, and Harriet Mays Powell, to stars like Heidi Klum, Darren Criss, and Taylor Momsen.
All of them assembled around a big black box in the middle of the room. When illuminated, the box was revealed to be a backstage area enclosed by translucent panels of plastic. From there, models walked down runways on either side of the space before performances by musicians Angel Haze, Dead Sara, and Grimes. And while no one walked away with pieces from the collection, guests did get a special treat at the end of the party: a parcel of differently flavuored doughnut holes served as the goody bag. A look at all the pieces that came down the runway, plus a few snaps from the party, here in the gallery.
It's been two years since Kristen Wiig killed it in Bridesmaids, and I've been anxious to see her headline another comedy. In the trailer for her latest movie, Girl Most Likely, she's certainly funny in the role of Imogene, though the laughs may come from a darker place. Her playwright character is trying to deal with career failure, and when she lands in the hospital after a meltdown, she has to go live with her self-involved mother (Annette Bening) at her Jersey Shore home. There, she's exposed to her mum's sleazy boyfriend (Matt Dillon) and the cute young guy (Darren Criss) who's renting a room in the house.
Though it looks like Wiig gets to do a little physical comedy, she seems to be playing more of a straight man while Bening gets to be a bit more outrageous. Even so, Wiig acting morose is still really funny, and I especially enjoyed her interactions with Dillon and Criss in the trailer.Watch the trailer after the jump.
Saturday's H&M Loves Music pool party was held at the expansive Merv Griffin Estate just outside of Palm Springs. The bash was the first such event the global fashion brand has thrown in conjunction with Coachella. The festivities featured paddleboat rides and ping-pong tables, carnival snacks including popcorn, fairy floss and churros, and a live poolside performance by Santigold. Santigold hit the stage late in the afternoon and played some of her biggest hits, including "L.E.S. Artistes," for the crowd. During the soiree, we caught up with Sophia Bush, who was lounging under an umbrella with a group, and spotted Darren Criss taking a turn on the paddleboats. Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson also arrived with friend and designer Jason Wu and relaxed by the pool.
Later on, Diane and Joshua transitioned to the Coachella festival itself, where they shared a few kisses in the VIP sections as bands played. Several famous couples have been making the rounds at the festival this year. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were at Coachella on Friday night, Michael Polish and Kate Bosworth spent Friday afternoon checking out bands including Beach House, and even Hilary Duff and her husband Mike Comrie made their way out to the desert to take in the first of two Coachella weekends.
Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Jane Lynch were joined by their Glee cast members to honour Ryan Murphy as he received the PaleyFest Icon Award in LA last night. Lea wore a sheer black Vivienne Tam dress while her boyfriend, Cory, went for a simple suit at the event. The Glee cast weren't the only stars from Ryan's shows to attend the shindig — Leslie Bibb, Carly Pope and Leslie Grossman from Ryan's first show, Popular, walked the red carpet along with Andrew Rannells and Justin Bartha from The New Normal. Many of the stars of Ryan's shows have grown close with the prolific TV creator, and Andrew, Naya Rivera and Darren Criss even did some impressions of Ryan Murphy on the red carpet for the Associated Press. After the award ceremony, Lea tweeted, "A beautiful night honoring the amazing Ryan Murphy. So happy for him. What a joy to be in such an amazing room with such incredible people."
