Thousands of fans came out in New Zealand last night to celebrate the world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Cate Blanchett was one of the stars that hit the red carpet, signing autographs and posing for photos on her way into the screening. Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, Evangeline Lilly, and director Peter Jackson, who brought his daughter, also showed their support for the big event. Evangeline debuted a dramatic new look on the arm of co-star James Nesbitt while Elijah waved to the overwhelming crowds as he emerged from the Hobbit house that was constructed at the front of the Embassy Theatre. It's just the beginning of press for the movie, which hits cinemas on Dec. 26.

It's a Girl For David Schwimmer, a Boy For Evangeline Lilly!

Two TV stars have welcomed their babies into the world! David Schwimmer’s wife Zoe Buckman gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Cleo, on May 8 in New York. The couple secretly got married last June after a few years of dating, and just released a sweet family portrait, with the new dad tweeting, “Hey everyone. Please welcome my daughter, Cleo, to this crazy but wonderful world.” Former Lost star Evangeline Lilly also recently gave birth to a son, whose name has not yet been released, with her boyfriend Norman Kali. The new parents have already been spotted with their little boy shopping in Oahu, Hawaii, where they’ve remained since Evangeline wrapped filming on Lost (Norman was a production assistant on the show). Congratulations to David and Evangeline on their baby joy!

Parties and Celebrity Premieres Continue at Cannes
The stars were out at Cannes yesterday, as Evangeline Lilly attended the premiere of The Princess of Montpensier starring Gaspard Ulliel and Melanie Thierry. She wore a long grey gown on the red carpet, while Eva Herzigova also wore a lacy number to the screening—a LBD. Jennifer Hudson attended the Winnie premiere alongside costar Terrance Howard, wearing a striking blue dress. Meanwhile Spanish actor Javier Bardem posed for the cameras at the photocall for his film Biutiful.
Cannes 2010: Evangeline Lilly

Evangeline Lilly looks every bit the fit and fabulous actress that she is at The Princess of Montpensier premiere. Her long, thick hair allows her countless options for these star-studded events. Here, her half-up/half-down style frames her face and her neckline to perfection. The pulled-back sections are braided and then twisted into the cascading waves at the back. It all appears effortless, which most likely lends to the ease in her gestures. And her makeup: all about the eyes and accentuating her healthy complexion. Is she ready or not for the A-list?
Stars Keep Walking the Red Carpet as Cannes Continues
The Cannes Film Festival is still in full swing, with more star-studded premieres and photocalls taking place over the weekend. Naomi Watts looked glam in her gown as she walked the red carpet for You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, the new Woody Allen movie. Kick-ass' Aaron Johnson put on his tux for the premiere of Chatroom alongside costars Imogen Poots, Matthew Beard and Hannah Murray. Jennifer Hudson looked fantastic at the photocall for her new movie Winnie, while Haley Bennett attended the premiere for her new movie Kaboom, by Greg Araki and costarring Thomas Dekker.
20 Stars With Freckly Faces
What are freckles? Clinically speaking, a freckle is an unusually heavy deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin. 'Freckling' is an uneven distribution of melanin pigment across the skin surface. These wee brown spots develop as a result of a combination of genetics and sun exposure. For some, they're born with 'em. For others, freckles appear over time in response to sun sensitivity. Pesky or cute? Well, with our sun-smart face on, we're gonna go with cute. In fact, lots of stars are peppered with these sweet spots, and we've got photos to prove that freckles have a certain kind of natural appeal. What do you think?
