Gwen shared in Marie Claire that her "biggest accomplishment is my marriage so far." Gwen Stefani showed off her rock-hard abs for the cover of Marie Claire's October issue. She's promoting her upcoming album with No Doubt, Push and Shove, and is also getting back to performing. Gwen kicked off the NFL season on stage in NYC last week, and recently announced new LA concert dates with her band. She's busy with her career, but took time to talk about her family life, husband Gavin Rossdale, and how she's trying to cut back. Here's more from Gwen Stefani in Marie Claire:
- On her marriage: "My biggest accomplishment is my marriage so far. Because it's hard, everyone knows it's hard. [Marriage] is something that I always wanted to do successfully. It was a dream of mine. I like the official-ness and the family-ness of it all, having the same name and making decisions together. [Our relationship] is better than it's ever been. Like, we're learning about each other all the time. He's an amazing dad, he works so hard. He balances me out. And he — he never stops liking me, which is awesome! It makes me feel happy, that someone likes me as much as he does."
- On wanting a third baby: "I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn't really work out. So . . . I feel good with what we've got. Everything works out how it should. You can't plan anything, right? You can try."
- On cutting back: "I've got myself in a lot of trouble by not saying no. This last year I kind of stopped working out. I think my body just needed a break. And so I did that, and focused more on feeling good as opposed to beating myself up. I have learned to delegate. I missed the last two Fashion Weeks because they were when school started; I can't miss the first week of kindergarten."
There were three major movie premieres in Australia this week — The Bourne Legacy, The Campaign and The Sapphires — so celebs were a-plenty. While Jeremy Renner, Will Ferrell and Jess Mauboy & co. lit up the red carpets in Sydney and Melbourne, in Hollywood it was family-time galore. Multiple celebs and their partners were seen stepping out on the town with their cute mini-mes in tow, and we're happy to report that everyone looks more loved-up than ever! Royal fave Kate Middleton worked the London Olympics with her brother-in-law Prince Harry, and Gisele showed off her growing baby bump... It's all in here, plus a whole lot more, so flick through and get up to speed with all the goings-on of la-la land.
In the past week our country has been hit with a big dose of Hollywood, thanks to stars such as Taylor Lautner and the cast of The Great Gatsby. Taylor proved to be a model celebrity as he signed autographs for hundreds of fans for more than an hour at the Sydney premiere of Abduction. Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and co. have been adjusting to life in Oz, which will host them for the next few months as they film Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation. As for other A-listers and what they’ve been doing with their time? Jennifer Garner, who recently announced she’s pregnant with her third child, hit the D23 Expo with Jason Segal, while Jessica Chastain and Helen Mirren both looked gorgeous at a screening of The Debt in New York. Also in New York (but in Schenectady) is Bradley Cooper, who’s been showing off a clean-shaven look on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. Holy moley! Could the 2011 Cannes Film Festival get any more glamorous? After being inundated a plethora of pics from last night's amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala, we think not. All the stars showed up in gowns worthy of a night at the Oscars for this ultra sophisticated soiree. Carine Roitfeld showed up with Kanye West on her arm, Mischa Barton made her red carpet return, whilst Courtney Love (wearing Givenchy) played Chinese whispers with Karl Lagerfeld. Speaking of, there was a strong Chanel-clad contingent including Kirsten Dunst, Uma Thurman, Karolina Kurkova and Clémence Poésy working the red carpet. Yesterday's amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Antibes drew a glamorous crowd of stars. The event, held during the nearby Cannes Film Festival, was attended by judging panel members Jude Law and Uma Thurman, as well as celebrities from the worlds of music and fashion. Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and Janet Jackson were some of the recording artists who made their way down the white carpet. Supermodels Doutzen Kroes, Bar Refaeli and Naomi Campbell joined designers like Karl Lagerfeld and amfAR chair Kenneth Cole at the fundraiser. This evening's swanky fête was one of several that have taken place during the annual cinema celebration. Earlier this week, a Chopard soirée drew many of the same famous faces, including Bar and Jude. Since the festival first kicked off on May 11, the stars have been keeping busy on the gala circuit, relaxing on the water on board mega yachts owned by the likes of Steven Spielberg and Microsoft's Paul Allen, and walking the red carpets at movie premieres like Brad Pitt's The Tree of Life, which debuted on Monday.
Feeling like you need some glam to give your Tuesday morning a lift? Then we've got just the ticket. The Cannes Film Festival has been providing us with our daily dose of French Riviera style, with a swag of the most stylish celebs showing up for premiere after premiere. Today's fashion hit comes courtesy of last night's Tree of Life premiere, for which all the stops were pulled out with Angelina Jolie (who brought the best handbag there is, Brad Pitt), Mia Wasikowska, Anna Dello Russo and Zoe Saldana donning full red carpet regalia for the occasion. Step inside to bask in all the glorious Cannes style.
It was a star-studded evening at the MOCA in LA Thursday night, as Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and more attended the opening of the Art in the Streets, the first major retrospective of graffiti art in the US. Gwen and Gavin are longtime supporters of the museum and its director, Jeffrey Deitch, after stepping out for another event there last year. Drew Barrymore and her red hair also made a cameo after she debuted the new hue Wednesday night at a book party. Other celebs like Adrian Grenier, pregnant Pink and Christina Ricci were on hand to toast icons like Shepard Fairey and Thierry Guetta, the star of last year's documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop. Shepard and Thierry's work is represented there along with pieces by Banksy.
Gwen Stefani looked gorgeous while hanging around on the cover of April's Elle UK — check out a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot from photographer Matthias Vriens McGrath. She's the face of its romance issue and chatted with her good friend Shirley Manson for the accompanying interview. The L.A.M.B. designer and L'Oréal model opened up about her 14 years with Gavin Rossdale and feeling lazy. Here's more:
- On her marriage: "I've been with Gavin for 14 years, and, let's face it, that is a huge accomplishment. I feel so proud of that — it hasn't been the easiest journey."
- On her ideal day: "I think of myself as really lazy. My ideal day would be to never get out of bed. No one can force me to do something unless I'm passionate about it."
2010 was a big year for Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, and their adorable boys Kingston and Zuma. The rocker couple kicked things off with a fun vacation to St. Barts, then got back to work with Bush and No Doubt. Gwen also focused on fashion, having her family's support as she showed two L.A.M.B. collections in NYC. Despite their demanding schedules, the parents made plenty of time to play at the park and even spend a day at Disneyland with their boys. Check out the gallery for a look back at the past twelve months for the Stefani-Rossdales, and don't miss all the Sugar Awards coverage across the Network!
