Who's That Girl? Gia Mantegna is 2011's Miss Golden Globe

As someone who has watched the Golden Globes for more years than I can remember, I used to wonder who the pretty young thing handing out the trophies was. You, too? These girls (and sometimes guys) are known as Miss Golden Globe, which is an annual title awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. They are also known for being the offspring of a celebrity and are given the honour of assisting in the Golden Globe celebrations by bringing out the trophies as they are presented to the recipients. Previous honourees include Freddie Prinze Jr. in 1996, Dakota Johnson (daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson) in 2006 and Rumer Willis in 2009. This year’s girl is Gia Mantegna, 20. Her father is Joe Mantegna of Criminal Minds and naturally she’s following in his footsteps, having appeared in 13 Going On 30 and landing an appearance on her dad’s show. Watch out for Gia when the Globes air Monday on FOX8 from 11 a.m. and check out some of the Miss Golden Globes from years past!
