At 14, Jaden Smith has already made two feature films with his father, Will Smith, and recently I sat down with the young actor to discuss their latest, After Earth. Jaden dished on his favourite part about working with his dad — "he's like a big, black Yoda" — and the actress he'd love to work with. Take a look before the movie hits cinemas on June 13!
The Week in Pictures: Candice, Lara, Miranda, The Smiths & More!
As the Northern Hemisphere heats up, all our favourite celebs have been enjoying sunny days on the beach and in inner-city parks. Candice Swanepoel stripped off to reveal an itsy-bitsy yellow bikini on the beach in Miami (reminding us why she deserves those Victoria's Secret Angel wings), while Jason Sudeikis and his fiancée Olivia Wilde were looking loved up in Hawaiian waters. Miranda Kerr took some time out to frolic with son Flynn in New York, where Will Smith and his family were busy premiering his new movie After Earth. And Lara Bingle? She had a suprer cute reunion with her best friend in Sydney — click through to check out these pics and more!
After Earth Premieres in NYC With the Smith Family, Lincoln Lewis and Fresh Prince Stars
Considering the new movie After Earth stars Will Smith and his son Jaden, the premiere was always going to be a Smith family affair. Will and Jaden were joined by Jada Pinkett, Willow and Trey for today’s NYC red carpet event, where the family posed together and separately for photos. Also on hand for the premiere was Australian actor Lincoln Lewis, who has a role in the film. “#AFTEREARTH was sic! A fun & intense action film Will and jaden are freakin awesome... As usual!” tweeted Lincoln, but he also discovered his role has been reduced when he added, “Unfortunately the original start got cut so most of mine & cadets stuff won't be in final cut, but so lucky to have this amazing experience.”
Will Smith made headlines earlier this week when he pulled together a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion on The Graham Norton Show, busting out the popular rap with the help of his friends DJ Jazzy Jeff and Alfonso Ribeiro — these two were also on the red carpet with their respective partners today. Other celebrity guests included Kylie Jenner and Bruce Willis.
Watch Will Smith's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion
Now this is the story all about how . . . Will Smith thrilled The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air fans by spontaneously breaking out the show’s rap during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. And even better, he got his son Jaden Smith on the act — they were promoting their movie After Earth and sitting alongside The Hangover Part III’s Bradley Cooper and Heather Graham — as well as his DJ, Jazzy Jeff, and Alfonso Ribeiro, who fans will know as Carlton Banks.

It started with Graham asking the father-son duo about whether they had collaborated on music, and then he produced two microphones after Will praised Jaden’s rapping skills. One Smith family performance later, and Will brought up how he had done the Fresh Prince rap the last time he’d been on the show, and that it had amassed over eight million views on YouTube. So how could he top that? By bringing in the big guns. Watch the “Switch”/theme song mash-up, the guys dancing to “Jump On It,” and Heather Graham really getting into the performance when you keep reading.
After Earth Trailer: Will and Jaden Smith Go Post-Apocalyptic
After Earth, director M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming post-apocalyptic film, is a father-and-son story, starring real-life father and son Will Smith and Jaden Smith. The two are left to fend for themselves when their spaceship crash-lands onto a mostly deserted planet Earth, which has been human-free for a thousand years.

There are two things that really caught my attention in this trailer: the first is Will Smith's strange, vaguely Southern accent that we hear as he narrates over the imagery of a lush, jungle-like version of our planet. The second is how much Jaden Smith has grown up. The adorable kid from The Pursuit of Happynessis a full-fledged teenager now, and I'm looking forward to seeing if he's inherited his father's action-star capabilities. We'll have to wait until June 6 to find out — another bonus: Lincoln Lewis co-stars! We're yet to have a glimpse of him — but until then, check out the preview when you read more.

Alicia, Justin, Willow and Jaden Rock the BET Awards
The BET Awards celebrated the largest names in hip-hop and R&B with wild fashion, high-energy dance routines, and a mini scandal at LA's Shrine Auditorium yesterday. The show kicked off with a mash-up of hits from Mary J. Blige before the awards were dished out to the night's winners. Taking a break from touring with Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj joined Justin Bieber to present the best male hip-hop artist award to Kanye West. Nicki didn't go home empty handed as she took home the honours for best female hip-hop artist. Justin was without his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, but he was in the company of pals Jaden and Willow Smith, who stepped out with their parents, Will and Jada, and the siblings shared the win in the young stars category.
Stars Have a Slimey Good Time at the Kids' Choice Awards!
The 24th annual Kids' Choice Awards brought out tons of stars to the Galen Center on the campus of USC in downtown LA on Saturday. Nickelodeon flew an enormous orange blimp over the event and rolled out the neon carpet for the arrival of young celebrities like Willow and Jaden Smith, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. The night kicked off with an energetic performance from the Black Eyed Peas who were joined on stage during dance routine by the show's host, Jack Black. Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance and was the first winner of the evening. He's a veteran of dealing with slime and celebrated his win for Best Male Actor by dispensing a shower of green rain over the audience, and himself. Heidi Klum got in on the fun as well when she opened an envelope that splashed the goo all over her dress, while her presenting partner Nick Cannon managed to avoid the mess. Will Smith kept dry throughout the evening and watched from the front row during Willow's adorable mashup of "21st Century Girl" and "Whip My Hair."
Justin Timberlake was on hand to receive the Big Help Award which celebrates stars who give back to the community. Russell Brand took a break from promoting Hop and Arthur to team up with Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez, though Katy Perry couldn't be there to accept her award for Favourite Female Singer as she's currently on tour. Miley Cyrus took home the coveted blimp for Best Female Actress in a floral floor length gown and Kim Kardashian wore a short and flirty mini dress to present the last award of the night.
Justin Bieber Collaborates With Usher at the Grammys
Justin Bieber kicked off his Grammy performance on a nostalgic note, with a look at the first time Bieber sang "You Got it Bad" for Usher back in 2007. Fast forward four years later, and the boy who became a teen phenomenon took the stage to strum an acoustic version of "Baby" on his guitar. It only grew from there, as Jaden Smith rapped up a storm and Usher joined in the fun for "O.M.G." We loved seeing these guys show off their moves side by side, but what did you think of the performance? Loving it?
Check Out the Amazing Lineup of Grammys Performers!
This year’s Grammy Awards is promising a magnificent show filled with some of the best performers and never-before-seen musical combos. We already know Gwyneth is teaming up with Cee-Lo Green, and Barbra Streisand was recently announced as a performer. Justin Bieber will take to the stage with mentor Usher and good friend Jaden Smith, while B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monáe are sure to bring the house down when they perform. Add to the mix the always theatrical Lady Gaga, the delightful Katy Perry, Eminem and even more acts and we’ve got quite a show!
