Jennifer Lawrence stunned during the American Hustle cast photo call in NYC on Sunday, posing for pictures in a bright blue dress alongside her castmates. The photo op came after Saturday's screening of the film, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for official Academy members. Jennifer was all smiles at the screening, attending the event with fellow cast members Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Christian Bale. Although she wasn't pictured at the screening's after party, Bradley Cooper seemed to enjoy himself, planting kisses on the film's directer, David O. Russell, while Christian made funny faces on the red carpet. It's been a busy few months for Jennifer, who recently made the rounds for the Catching Fire press tour, and fans can look forward to seeing more of her ahead of American Hustle's release date on Dec. 12.
We are dying to see Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Christian Bale's reteaming with director David O. Russell in American Hustle, and it's not just because the actors have delivered great performances when working with Russell. It's also because they look amazing in the '70s-set film about a real-life sting operation. In these stylish posters for the movie, we get another look at each character, and they're just incredible. Lawrence and Adams have the big hair and low-cut necklines, and Bale, Cooper and co-star Jeremy Renner have hair that would only be acceptable in the outrageously outfitted decade. Check them all out! American Hustle is out Jan. 16.
If Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner sound like a dream team to you, then wait until you see the trailer for David O. Russell's American Hustle. Cooper (with a perm!) and Bale star as the "brains" behind a series of high-profile robberies in the '70s, while Adams and Lawrence are the women who love them — also, presumably disco and cocaine. Eventually all good things must come to an end, and it looks like the hustlers don't stay on top for long.
So many of these actors have worked with Russell before, but it's fascinating to see them all together — especially Lawrence, who we've never seen pull off a look like this before. With her low-cut tops and sky-high hair, she's pretty much the polar opposite of her Silver Linings Playbook character. I also love that the footage is paired with Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" — perfection. The film opens in Australia on Jan. 16. Take a look at the trailer after the jump.
The Cannes Film Festival came to a close yesterday, with French film Blue Is the Warmest Colour taking out the coveted Palme D'Or prize, but the South of France was flooded with stars since it kicked off two Wednesdays ago. Orlando Bloom arrived on the weekend to promote his film Zulu and presented an award at the closing ceremony, while jurors Nicole Kidman, Christoph Waltz and Steven Spielberg headed into the ceremony as a group. Uma Thurman had her partner, Arpad Busson, on her arm for the closing ceremony as well, and last week Michael Douglas and Matt Damon were the talk of the international film extravaganza, promoting their film Behind the Candelabra. Over the past two weeks, other stars like Jessica Chastain, Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake and Alec Baldwin have also been getting in on the Cannes fun. Marion Cotillard did her best to hold it together when her eyes started to water in the middle of a photo call for The Immigrant at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday. She looked perfectly elegant while posing for photos in a white Alexander McQueen dress with her co-star Jeremy Renner, but when it came time to face the photographers herself, her eyes started to tear up. Marion giggled through the ordeal, and put on a pair of large sunglasses as she geared up for the film's press conference. She is no stranger to the flashing lights in the South of France as she premiered another new project, Blood Ties, at the festival on Monday.
It's been a dramatic week for Marion after a woman who was accused of stalking her in 2011 was sentenced to probation on Tuesday. Marion wasn't present at the sentencing, which took place in Brooklyn, as she was attending to business in Cannes. Don't forget to check out all the celebrities at the Cannes Film Festival as the glamorous bash draws to a close this weekend!
There are mere days until the Academy Awards, and we can't wait to see so many talented people in one place. It's not just about the nominees and winners, though — there will also be plenty of star power taking the stage to present, and we recently got confirmation about a few of the performers, too. Cast members of Les Misérables will be among the many performing in a tribute to movie musicals, and presenters from Jane Fonda to Kristen Stewart will be on hand. Click through to see them and who else you can expect on Oscar night.
Super Bowl 2013 has already attracted plenty of stars to New Orleans and even if they couldn't get there, they're taking part in festivities around the country. Sofia Vergara and Jeremy Renner linked up at the Rolling Stone party held at the Bud Light Hotel yesterday, while today, Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Josh Hutcherson and more got competitive during a celebrity beach bowl challenge. Though the game is a bigger deal in America, it's always fun to see the stars stepping out for a bit of fun. Click through to see the latest pics as the stars party towards the 2013 Super Bowl!
Celebrities had their work cut out for them this week, that's for sure! Between hitting the SAG Awards on Monday (not to the mention all the pre-SAG parties!) and the AACTA Awards on Wednesday, they were up to their ears in red carpet events and glam nights out. There were multiple premieres happening around the same time across the globe, including ones for Australian Teresa Palmer's new film, Warm Bodies, and Diane Kruger's new German film. But it wasn't all glitz and glam! Some of the most beautiful pics we saw this week were of happy families reuniting — Keith Urban sure looked glad to have his girls back as they arrived home in Sydney. . . There's plenty more to see, so click through to catch up on the week's happenings!
It's been a big week here in Sydney, with lots of red carpet events and celebrity sightings to fill up our time. PopSugar editor Jess was up to her ears in Aussie stars (and a couple international) when she hit both the AACTA Awards and the Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters premiere in Sydney. We spied so many gorgeous dresses on people like Cate Blanchett and Jessica Mauboy, and we were loving Megan Gale's dark, voluminous waves when she stepped onto the carpet. Ali went to fashion showings and received a very cool, very Chanel gift, while Alison's been trying out some new nail polish colours and perfecting her travel beauty kit. There's plenty more behind-the-scenes action to see — click through to check it out!
