There's no shortage of celebrity action on social media, but this week we saw some of the funniest photos yet. From Guy Sebastian and his wife Jules sending some Christmas cheer out, to Phoebe Tonkin showing off her pregnant belly (whaaat?) and Delta Goodrem doing a Throwback Thursday post, we couldn't get enough. Of course, our favourites celebrities do work hard — and in this gallery, you'll see Gisele Bundchen, Katie Holmes and more doing just that.
We swear, celebrities get more and more entertaining every day. On Twitter this week, Lena Dunham made us laugh out loud with her opinion on the name "Robin", while Neil Patrick Harris made his feelings about RuPaul very clear. Coco Rocha had her say about Justin Timberlake's music (and let's just say, it's not a glowing review), and Kylie Minogue tweeted some love and support to a fellow Australian singer who's embarked on a new project. There so much more — click through to read all of this week's celebrity happenings!
I hope you're ready to see Leonardo DiCaprio looking slick on screen yet again this year, because the Great Gatsby star is trading the '20s for the '90s in The Wolf of Wall Street's trailer. DiCaprio stars as Jordan Belfort, a real-life stockbroker who made millions — but was convicted for committing fraud in the stock market. But at least, it seems, he had fun doing it: in the trailer, Jordan parties hard on his yacht, romances plenty of ladies, and dances like the police aren't knocking on his door. The movie, based on Belfort's memoir, is directed by Martin Scorsese, and has plenty of other big names besides its leading man, including Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill and Kyle Chandler. Former Neighbours star Margot Robbie also gets a decent amount of trailer time.
Where do I even begin with this trailer? The antics (monkeys! Tossing little people!) and high living are so over the top that it's funny (seriously, watch that scene of Leo dancing again). And not only is this from Scorsese, it's Scorsese and DiCaprio working together yet again — this is their fifth time, and it looks like it might even top their previous collaborations. I can't wait to see more from this movie when it comes out on Dec. 12, and you can watch the trailer right now after the jump.
It's been a bumper week of tweets this time around, with so much action taking place online it was hard to keep up! Miley Cyrus made it clear that she does what she wants (on Twitter, anyhow!), while Mindy Kaling's dad sounds just as cool as the funny star herself. Frank Ocean continued his quest to become the king of quotes — in 100 years time, people will still be proclaiming his clever observations. Amanda Bynes stayed true to form with her insults, Jesinta Campbell reaffirmed her nice-girl status and Joel Madden and Karl Stefanovic had something to say about Seal. There's plenty more, too — click through to catch up on all the action in the celebrity Twittersphere this week.
We've learned a lot about celebrities via their tweets this week. For starters, Katy Perry dished the dirt on what her perfect Saturday looks like — and gave us a bit of a pervy glimpse into her still-steady relationship with boyfriend John Mayer. Justin Bieber, who's had a bit of a tough birthday week, took to the social media site to reveal some truths about the seemingly never-ending drama during his London tour, while Guy Sebastian had his own paparazzi-related woes. Onto lighter topics: Alexa Chung knows where Russell Brand got his vocabulary from, and which massively popular band does Rainn Wilson compare to the sound of Lindsay Lohan vomiting? It's all in here — click through to find out!
The party-hopping continued after the Golden Globes yesterday with a star-studded guest list at The Weinstein Company and DeLeon Tequila bash in LA. Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, who also stopped by InStyle's party, met up with pals Sarah Hyland, Ashley Tisdale and Josh Hutcherson, while Leonardo DiCaprio mingled with Bradley Cooper, Jonah Hill and his Django Unchained co-star Jamie Foxx. Jennifer Lopez changed out of her sexy Zuhair Murad gown and into a black look for the event, where she and boyfriend Casper Smart chatted with J Lo's ex Diddy when they weren't busy cuddling up at a table.
Presenter Robert Pattinson and winner Damian Lewis rounded out the sexy Globes guys in attendance, while Jessica Alba hung out with a fashionable crowd that included Rachel Zoe. Jessica swapped her $5.8 million necklace from the red carpet for a fun black-and-white checkered dress and Julianne Hough traded her layered Monique Lhuillier for a blush Jenny Packham number. Kate Hudson, Amy Adams, Heidi Klum and more famous faces celebrated with Harvey Weinstein at his star-studded party, so be sure to click through and see them all!
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill soaked up the sunshine during a luxurious boat ride on Sydney Harbour on Friday. The Django Unchained co-stars also had the company of Hollywood friends Lukas Haas and Kevin Connolly, and spent the day partying with bikini-clad women as they made their way to The Island. Earlier in the day they arrived on a private jet with Jamie Foxx, which was reportedly organised by The Star, where the celebrities will be spending New Year's Eve tonight. They'll join a host of other announced stars including Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Colton Haynes and Samantha Ronson, who will all be making appearances at Marquee.
It seems that Leo, Jonah et al will be very busy on New Year's Eve, with the Sunday Telegraph reporting that they'll be flown back to Las Vegas straight after the midnight countdown so they can ring in 2013 in the US as well.
There were two things that had our favourite famous Tweeters up in arms this week: The supposed Mayan apocalypse, and the proposed changes to everyone's favourite app, Instagram. And yep, as we've come to expect, the celebs we follow were vocal about both. Pink went as far as to say she'd be quitting the photo-sharing app for good, while Jonah Hill likened the effect of the new rules to a broken heart (what a romantic). As for the end of the world? Some people were relieved to see it was nothing more than a myth, while others (like Lauren Conrad) were kind of relying on the end to be nigh. And Megan Gale? She just wants us to have a safe Christmas break — proving she's gorgeous on the inside, too. Click through this gallery of this week's celebrity tweets for a bit of insight, a bit of confusion, and lots of entertainment!
Spotted on the set of new movie The Wolf of Wall Street: Aussie expat Margot Robbie laughing it up and looking gorgeous alongside co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. Margot will star as Nadine Belfort, wife of Jordan (played by Leo), in what will be her first major Hollywood role. The former Neighbours starlet picked a doozy — Wolf boasts an all-star cast (Leo, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Gene Hackman, Jon Favreau, Oscar winner Jean Dujardin and more), a legendary director (Martin Scorsese) and a best-selling novel as its foundation. Not bad for a breakthrough role, huh? We can't wait to see Margot in action — as it stands, the movie is pegged for release late next year, but click through our gallery for a sneak peek!
Demi Lovato and Kevin McHale opened the Teen Choice Awards as the event's hosts today. She was treated to greetings from her fellow The X Factor judges Britney Speats and Simon Cowell, before the first presenters, Selena Gomez and Zooey Deschanel, handed off the Choice Comedian to Ellen DeGeneres. Choice Sci-fi TV series went to The Vampire Diaries, and the cast of Choice TV Drama Pretty Little Liars handed off Movie actor to The Lucky One's Zac Efron. Ian Somerhalder and an absentee Miley Cyrus took home Choice Male and Female Hottie nods, respectively. Ian sent thanks to Miley's parents, Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, on her behalf. Other absentee honours went to The Hunger Games' Choice Male Scene Stealer Liam Hemsworth and Choice Actress in a Sci-Fi Movie Jennifer Lawrence. Emma Stone will receive two prizes for Crazy Stupid Love and The Help, Rihanna got love for Battleship, and One Direction had their boards air-mailed to London.
Birthday girl Selena Gomez, who's newly 20, won Choice Music Group for Selena Gomez & the Scene. Winning a surfboard was for Selena "the best birthday present ever," and things only got better when the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" for her. Jonah Hill made a cameo to accept a surfboard for 21 Jump Street, and Taylor Swift took the stage to accept Choice Female Artist. The Twilight gang of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner accepted the ultimate choice prize for Breaking Dawn Part 1, and Rob even passed his surfboard into the crowd! To wrap things up, Justin Bieber performed a medley of his songs from Believe. The last honour went to Choice Summer Male Movie Star Chris Hemsworth, for both Snow White and the Huntsman and The Avengers. It was a big day for young Hollywood — be sure to catch up on all the Teen Choice Awards style!
