Josh Hutcherson was honoured with the Vanguard Award today in downtown LA at the GLAAD Media Awards. The celebration honoured actors, entertainers, TV shows, and films that have helped support the LGBT community through their work. Joshua Jackson, Milla Jovovich, Betty White, Ali Larter, and Ellen Degeneres and Portia DeRossi were also in attendance to lend their support to the cause. Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson was yet another guest of honour and accepted an award on behalf of his hit sitcom during the ceremony. We caught up with Josh on the press line to talk about his campaign for Straight Not Narrow, which is geared toward combatting homophobia, and the most inspiring letter he received from a teen who was touched by its message. We also spoke with him about the news that Francis Lawrence, the director behind Water For Elephants and I Am Legend, will helm Catching Fire. Josh admitted to us that he hasn't yet met Francis but expressed excitement about working with him on the second installment of the franchise, which is set to hit theaters in November 2013.
