In terms of celebrity events and Aussie-centric news, it's been a pretty massive week to keep up with! First came the sad news that Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have parted ways after six years together — but what got people talking the most was that the pair were spotted hanging out together the next day. Kim Kardashian celebrated her 33rd birthday in style, Katy Perry hit Sydney (and the shops!) and Princess Mary and Prince Frderik wrapped up their whirldwind trip Down Under during the week. And let's not forget the celebrity pregnancy announcement, a new couple making their first appearance together, and Angelina Jolie hanging out on the Gold Coast! There's plenty more to see, click through to catch up.
Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long made their relationship official when they made their first joint event appearance at the LAByrinth Theater Company's annual celebrity charades benefit in NYC on Monday night. Amanda and Justin joined Saturday Night Live stars Bobby Moynihan and Rachel Dratch, as well as Rose Byrne and her Emmy-winning boyfriend, Bobby Cannavale, on the stage for a round of lively games. While Amanda looked happy to play with her beau at the bash, she gave some insight into one of her relationship no-nos when she tweeted sage love advice earlier this month, writing, "Stop tweeting your significant other." Maybe Amanda's tweet reveals why Justin rarely tweets at his blonde lady, except when it's to praise her performance in Lovelace.
This has been a bit of a bumper week when it comes to celebrities on social media! First we introduced you to all the best people to follow on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, then we brought you our Top 10 total round up and now? Well now we're winding down with a collection of the best tweets of the week. From Guy Sebastian lamenting a lost opportunity with beauty giant Chanel, to Alexa Chung taking issue with children's game pass the parcel, we were highly amused, often bemused and once or twice, a little confused, when we caught up with all the best stars on Twitter. Keen to know more? One of our favourite male actors is new to the Twittersphere — and you'll never guess who he credits with convincing him to join — Nicole Richie is making a case for under-eye bags and Ellen DeGeneres has some rather unusual carry-on luggage . . . But there's heaps more, still. You'd better clicking and reading!
Saturday's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in LA was a family affair for stars including Rachel Zoe, Alessandra Ambrosio, Selma Blair, and Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romjin. The India-inspired event also drew Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend William Tell, who were spotted cosying up to each other in the VIP tent, Twilight star Ashley Greene, and Justin Long, among others. We spotted Justin horsing around with Jerry and Rebecca's twin daughters during the kid-friendly party, where fellow mums Rachel and Alessandra also did some bonding with their little ones.
The match was a close one, but polo star Nacho Figueras' team reigned supreme with a score of 10-9 after actress Ali Larter kicked things off by throwing out the first toss. Rachel presented the Ralph Lauren model with an oversized bottle of champagne during the awards ceremony, during which he was honoured as the day's MVP, with her son Skyler Berman and husband Rodger Berman by her side.
I'd love to tell you the full star-studded cast of Movie 43 but I'm afraid we'd be here all day. The trailer for off-the-wall comedy includes Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Anna Faris, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Chris Pratt, Chloë Moretz, Justin Long and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The film is a collection of 25 different stories, and as far as I can tell, the only common theme is stars behaving badly. Halle Berry blows out the candles on a blind kid's birthday cake, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber bully their teenager, and Gerard Butler is a leprechaun.
A handful of bloated comedies have proven that the mega-ensemble is a tricky beast, but this has me wondering if the formula might actually work this time. It could be amazing, or it could be an epic fail. Watch the NSFW trailer after the jump.
Seth Rogen joined his Armani-clad wife, Lauren Miller, at yesterday's NYC premiere of For a Good Time, Call . . . Lauren wrote the raunchy comedy and co-stars in it with funny lady Ari Graynor, who chose a pink low-cut dress from Honor and Brian Atwood heels. Justin Long, who's reportedly dating Kate Mara, stepped out solo and adorably posed for photos holding his phone. Paul Rudd, Kristen Wiig and Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss stopped by the after party to show their support for the project. Elisabeth debuted a short blonde bob on the red carpet and turned heads in a sexy black cocktail dress. When asked if blondes really have more fun, Elisabeth joked that she is "so far."
The second annual Critics' Choice Television Awards at The Beverly Hilton in LA brought out plenty of small screen stars today. Cougar Town's Busy Philipps posed for the cameras in Michael Kors and chatted with us about her character's potentially racy future on the red carpet. Her co-star and fellow presenter Josh Hopkins was also on hand showing off his tan after a trip to Hawaii for the Maui Film Festival. Ariel Winter, from Modern Family, got candid about the surprising season finale while Ginnifer Goodwin arrived with her boyfriend and Once Upon a Time co-star Josh Dallas. Also on hand for the event were nominees Justin Long, Gillian Anderson, Kevin Costner, Julianne Moore and Cheryl Hines.
Ever wonder how twentysomethings in movies all seem to live in amazing apartments in NYC despite their lack of income? Katie (Ari Graynor) and Lauren (Lauren Miller) have it all figured out in For a Good Time, Call . . .'s red band trailer. The story starts 10 years ago when a mutual friend (Justin Long) introduces them and drunk Katie proceeds to pee in a huge cup in Lauren's car, then spill the contents all over her face. Flash forward 10 years and the two meet again and agree to a convenient roommate situation. Katie's place is great, then Lauren finds out how she's financing it: by operating a phone sex line.
I love the way uptight Lauren and freewheeling Katie play off each other, and the story, in which they eventually pull together their respective skills to make some serious moola, is shockingly realistic in these economic times. Check out the NSFW trailer and let me know what you think after the jump.
GQ rounded up some of Hollywood's hottest men in LA last night to celebrate its annual Men of the Year issue. Taylor Lautner suited up for the black carpet along with James Franco, who mentioned that his mustache is for a new role. James Marsden looked dapper too, and he stopped to chat with Pop US about how he'd nominate his wife for Babe of the Year. That honour has already gone to Scarlett Johansson, who you think deserves props for her look about as much as her Sexiest Man Alive husband, Ryan Reynolds. Scarlett and Ryan both skipped yesterday's party, but some other honorees from People's latest list turned out. Kellan Lutz covered his abs and True Blood stud Joe Manganiello was likewise dressed up.
The fun continued inside the Chateau Marmont for some loved-up couples like Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan, and the recently married Dave Annable and Odette Yustman. Krysten Ritter celebrated wrapping up work with Kate Bosworth on BFF & Baby by saying hello to Sam Page, the new hottie on Gossip Girl and Mad Men, while Aziz Ansari could hardly contain his enthusiasm at chilling with Jesse Eisenberg. Twilight's Taylor practiced his flirting with Jaime King, as Boardwalk Empire's Michael Pitt stuck by his co-star Steve Buscemi. James Franco spent a minute chatting with Mark Ruffalo, who told Pop US on the way in that he's thankful this year for being employed as a relatively older actor.
Ryan Gosling brought a special lady, his mum, Donna, as his date to the second annual Governors Awards in LA on Saturday night. The birthday boy celebrated his 30th at Disneyland on Friday, and while he's had plenty of memorable onstage moments in the past, the evening was all about the honorees like Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sofia Coppola came out to support her dad alongside Natalie Portman, Hilary Swank and Elle Fanning. The ladies were joined by guests Stephen Dorff, Justin Long and Josh Brolin, who stuck by his red-hot wife, Diane Lane.
