Washington DC was flooded with famous faces over the weekend for the 2013 presidential inauguration!

Washington DC was flooded with famous faces over the weekend for the 2013 presidential inauguration! The celebrities were more than happy to share their snaps through social media.

Alicia Keys' husband, Swizz Beatz, gushed over his hug with President Barack Obama during The Inaugural Ball. Katy Perry and John Mayer were also at the Ball and snapped a quick photo with Eric Benet and his daughter. At the swearing-in ceremony, Beyoncé Knowles sang the national anthem — it has since been reported that she lip-synched — but not before she got a quick pic with her mum, Tina. Wilmer Valderrama sat in the audience in front of the US Capitol to watch Obama give his big speech.

It's the news we've all been waiting for — previously unlucky-in-love singer Kelly Clarkson has announced her engagement to boyfriend Brandon Blackstock! The singer, who's made a red-hot career out of singing about bad boys and broken hearts, broke the news on her Twitter account yesterday, writing:

"I'M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever."

Kelly, 30, started dating Brandon just over a year ago, and the Nashville-based talent manager popped the question on Friday night — you can see the massive yellow canary diamond ring here. We couldn't be happier for Kelly and her beau — congratulations to the happy couple!

Taylor and Justin Win Big at the American Music Awards

The American Music Awards are going down in LA this evening.

The American Music Awards are going down in LA this evening. Usher opened a show that went on to feature many performances from some of the biggest stars in the music industry. Gwen Stefani and the guys of No Doubt put on a show, as did Kelly Clarkson and Ke$ha. Taylor Swift performed her soon-to-be-released single "I Knew You Were Trouble." She changed out of the gold Zuhair Murad number she wore on the red carpet and into her second dress of the evening. Justin Bieber hit the stage too for a rendition of his songs "As Long As You Love Me" and "Beauty and a Beat." Pink put on an acrobatic, energetic performance, and Christina Aguilera wore a tiny costume to sing a song of her own.

As for the awards, Taylor and Justin were big winners. After arriving with his mum, Pattie Mallette, as his date, Justin picked up an early honour for best pop or rock male artist. He was also recognised with favourite pop/rock album. Taylor, meanwhile, was crowned favourite female country artist. Further honours went to best new artist, Carly Rae Jepsen, and favourite country band, Lady Antebellum. The show's still underway in LA, so check back soon for more updates!

Must-Know Makeup Tips From Emily Blunt and Other Celebs

Sometimes it's the student who teaches the teacher and in this particular case — it's the celebrity client teaching the makeup artist.

Sometimes it's the student who teaches the teacher and in this particular case — it's the celebrity client teaching the makeup artist. Here, our guest writer, celebrity makeup artist, Brett Freedman, shares with us his role-reversing experiences.

In my career as a makeup artist I've been turned on to some really great beauty tricks. Some are self-learned from trial and error, some are from other makeup artists, and more than a few have come from the subject themselves. There's a difference between doing makeup on a gal that's not in the entertainment industry (or as I term them, "civilian") and someone who gets made up as part of their job. Civilians are excited to try new colours, textures, and see their faces through the eyes of a pro; whereas actresses, singers, and models have seen their faces made up many different ways, making them hyperkeen on how products feel, wear and photograph. Who better to give insight into glam than the canvas themselves?

Stars Sparkle, Burn and Sing at the American Music Awards

The stars of yesterday's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event.

The stars of yesterday's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance. The evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas, who later took the stage and performed "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist. The show continued with performances from Carrie Underwood and Shakira, as well as from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys with "Empire State of Mind." Unfortunately not everyone stayed on their feet — both Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert took tumbles while singing. There were other memorable performances, from Lady Gaga, Rihanna and not to mention Whitney Houston's return to the stage before she received the International Award of Excellence. Jennifer Lopez had a beaming Marc Anthony in the crowd as she debuted her new single and showed off those customised Louboutins. Michael Jackson won multiple awards and his brother Jermaine took the stage to accept them on behalf of their family. Taylor Swift took home the most statues- though she wasn't there to accept them- and the upset of the night might have to go to Gloriana who won breakthrough artist. Kate Hudson joined her Nine costars Fergie and Nicole Kidman, though Kate did have a chance to share a special moment with Alex Rodriguez. We also had everything covered on the fashion and beauty ends, so make sure to check in with Fab and Bella!
