Iron Man's not the only Avenger who's coming back to cinemas this year — Thor (Chris Hemsworth) returns to the big screen in October, and he's got quite a lot on his plate. His first priority is coming back to Earth for Jane (Natalie Portman), his girlfriend, whom he plucks out of London right in the middle of a science experiment. Odin isn't exactly safe for a human, though, because there's a new bad guy in town named Malekith who has an entire army of Dark Elves. So whom does Thor turn to? Why, his deranged brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who is now locked up (and hasn't seemed to have washed his hair).

I loved the lighter, sillier tone of the original Thor movie (compared to, say, Captain America), but the trailer isn't exactly packed with jokes — though I guess that's to be expected when the word "dark" is right there in the title. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what develops in Thor's action-packed next chapter come Oct. 31. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Natalie Portman wore bridal white to shoot a wedding scene with Michael Fassbender in Austin on Friday. They've been working on the project in Texas together for the last week, and it seems they have off-the-screen sexual tension — Natalie and Michael's big-screen ceremony was full of kisses and passionate embraces. Natalie and Michael's collaboration is one of the first big-screen endeavours Natalie's undertaken since welcoming her son, Aleph Millepied, last year, as well as Knight of Cups alongside leading man Christian Bale.

Aleph accompanied Natalie to Texas along with his dad and her husband, Benjamin Millepied. However, Benjamin's own business is taking place in LA. Benjamin's LA Dance Project was the subject of a piece in this weekend's New York Times, and he described the upstart company's mission. Benjamin said of LA, "This city is rich with intellect and culture, but you can't present dance like you would in New York or Paris. Let's bring dance to people who might not come to a formal setting. Let's touch on different aspects of culture and pull people in."

Natalie Portman headed to Las Vegas on Saturday to attend a special event on behalf of President Obama's reelection campaign. She was a guest of honour at the Nevada Women Vote 2012 Summit, which aimed to highlight the differences for women that would occur under another term for the president vs. his Republican rival Mitt Romney.

Natalie spoke to hundreds of Obama supporters at the city's Historic Fifth Street School. There will be a series of Women Vote Summits, but Natalie picked Nevada for a reason. Explaining her decision to appear in Vegas, Natalie said, "Nevada is a battleground state, and the women are really going to decide this election."

Prior to the political event, Natalie got her nails done in LA. Natalie and her family, husband Benjamin Millepied and their son, Aleph Millepied, have been on the West Coast while both Natalie and Benjamin work on new projects.

Natalie Portman is officially married! News of her and Benjamin Millepied's nuptials came out back in February, after they debuted wedding bands at the Oscars that month, and now it looks like they continued the celebration. Natalie and Benjamin reportedly had a wedding ceremony in Big Sur, California, yesterday.

The duo met back in 2009 when they worked on Black Swan. The role changed Natalie's life in another way as well, since she ended up taking home the best actress Academy Award for her role last year. In late 2010, Natalie and Benjamin announced that they were engaged and expecting! Their son Aleph Millepied turned one in June.
