Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz are best friends forever

Am I the only one who finds it incredibly bizarre that Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz are seemingly such good friends? The two co-star in the upcoming musical Nine, but they also both had relationships with Tom Cruise.

Penelope and Tom co-starred in Vanilla Sky and dated for three years right after Nicole and Tom ended their 10-year marriage. The ladies looked quite chummy in photos from their Vanity Fair shoot and yesterday they had lunch together at Tavern restaurant in LA. Oh how we’d love to be a fly on the wall for that girly catch-up.
