Up in the Air and Glee Lead the Pack at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards Nominations!

12

Justin Timberlake, Diane Kruger and John Krasinski were on hand this morning to announce the 2010 Golden Globe Awards nominations in LA. Multiple nods were popular for a number of stars, as Meryl Streep, Matt Damon, Anna Paquin and Sandra Bullock all found themselves nominated twice. Things are also looking good for Up in the Air — Jason Reitman's film scored six nominations, including Best Director, Best Actor (yay Clooney!) and not one but two Best Supporting Actress nods for Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick. The film is also up for Best Motion Picture Drama, along with Avatar, The Hurt Locker, Precious and Inglorious Basterds- which scored an impressive four nods. Nicole Kidman's Nine was also a success, managing five nominations, including acting nods to Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard and Penelope Cruz. On the TV end, old favourites like Mad Men and 30 Rock got some competition from new show Glee. Glee took home the most nominations of any television program, including Best Actor for Matthew Morrison, Best Actress for Lea Michele, Best Supporting Actress for Jane Lynch and Best TV Program, Musical or Comedy. While on the home front, it was all about the small screen- Toni Collette (United States of Tara), Simon Baker (The Mentalist) and Rose Byrne (Damages) were each nominated for their work.

We'll get to see who takes home the gold when the awards take place on Jan. 17, with Ricky Gervais as host.
