Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, were together in London yesterday for a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital. The two were on hand to open the new Oak Center For Children and Young People, which will help youths affected by cancer. Kate was decked out in a fitted, off-white Amanda Wakeley dress for the occasion. It wasn't one of the pieces she recently picked up at Topshop, though. The duchess popped into a Kensington branch of the popular retailer and acquired a pair of gold earrings, a bouclé jacket and a polka-dot skirt. Kate also recently visited London's National Portrait Gallery to check out the contemporary collection. The duchess, who studied art history at St. Andrew's, took particular note of a piece by Marc Quinn, which was made of the artist's own blood.

Prince William seemed in high spirits despite long hours with the Royal Air Force. Earlier in the day, Prince William finished a 24-hour mission. He apparently started the shift the morning before, flying a sailor to see a sick relative and picking up an injured person. William was nonetheless committed to the hospital event today. The Royal Marsden was a favorite of his mother's, Diana, who was a patron of the institution.
