Princess Mary Wraps Up Her Australian Tour in Glam Style
Princess Mary and Prince Frederik concluded their Australian tour on the weekend. On Friday their itinerary took them to Broken Hill, where Mary was greeted by an excited crowd when she visited the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Frederik made a separate stop in Macarthur, where he inspected the construction of a wind farm, donning a safety helmet and vest. The Danish royals returned to Melbourne on Saturday for their last official engagements, two events for the Alannah and Madeline Foundation. During the day, Mary spoke at the launch of the organisation’s eSmart program, addressing issues such as cyberbullying. Then, in the evening, she changed into a one-shouldered gown and joined her suited-up husband for the Starry Starry Night gala ball, which was held at Melbourne’s Crown Casino. Following their official duties, Mary and Frederik made their way to Mary’s native Hobart for a family visit with their 10-month-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, and it’s reported their elder children, Prince Christian and Princess Isabella, also joined them at the tail-end of their trip for some family fun.
