It’s not an understatement to say that the past week has been exciting and jam-packed. To recap, we came off our post-royal wedding highs and went straight onto the Logies. Then Sydney was swept with fashion fever during RAFW while Hollywood A-listers had their own stylish shindig at the Costume Institute Gala in New York. And then, the big one of the week and a highlight for many Aussie Robert Pattinson fans: the arrival of their favourite star with Reese Witherspoon to promote Water For Elephants on our shores. But so much more happened during the week! January Jones flaunted her growing baby bump at a Lakers game, Chris Hemsworth premiered Thor in LA alongside wife Elsa Pataky, and the Glee cast and crew held a special Q&A and screening in Hollywood. When the stars of Scream 4 came together for the film’s world premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood today, it was a gathering of the horror movie veterans and the new school Screamers. Original stars Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell stuck to appropriately dark ensembles while the younger generation such as Emma Roberts, Kristen Bell, Shenae Grimes and Hayden Panettiere came dressed in bright shades. Courteney and David shared a hug on the red carpet while director Wes Craven posed with different members of his cast. The fourth instalment of the Ghostface saga promises to be a scream-filled ride (naturally) and also stars Adam Brody, Anna Paquin, Rory Culkin and a slew of Hollywood up-and-comers. Scream 4 hits cinemas this Thursday. Will you be checking it out?
Do you like scary movies? Fourteen years ago (can you believe it?), Wes Craven made those five words one of the most terrifying questions in movie history with Scream. Three films later, and Sydney, Gale, and Dewey are still on the run from the latest Ghostface Killer. This time they're joined by an onslaught of fresh blood (mostly PYTs like Lucy Hale, Hayden Panettiere, and Emma Roberts) in the new trailer for Scream 4.
Rory Culkin plays the token horror-movie aficionado, taking us through "the rules," though the 21st century brings some changes. The murders have to be more extreme, the killer wants to videotape all of his conquests, and — gasp! — virgins aren't safe anymore! The first look at the reunion of Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette has me giddy for more, and dare I say the upcoming installment looks even better than Scream 3. Check out all the star-studded goodness for yourself.
Chace Crawford and 50 Cent were front and center last night at a special screening of their movie Twelve in NYC. The Gossip Girl actor had plenty of his small-screen co-stars there for support—Jessica Szohr, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively took a break from working on their new season to check out Chace's film. Blake was a little more covered up than at her weekend appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego, where she promoted Green Lantern. Chace hung out with his co-stars from the film, including Rory Culkin and Zoe Kravitz, and got close to Ewan McGregor at the afterparty at Le Bain.
I must admit, I'm actually quite excited for Scream 4, thanks in large part to the original director and stars like Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox already signing on. But as happy as I am about those old familiar faces, it's inevitable that there will be some new blood in the movie's cast. Today I've heard that Ashley Greene, Lake Bell, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin are all in talks to appear. Since nothing is set in stone yet, I thought it would be fun to review each actor and the character they're up for (P.S.: lots of fun plot details are revealed in each!)!
