Anne Hathaway shared laughs and drinks with her Les Misérables co-stars at a special pre-Oscars bash in LA last night.

Anne Hathaway shared laughs and drinks with her Les Misérables co-stars at a special pre-Oscars bash in LA last night. She donned a Theyskens' Theory mini-dress as she celebrated with a Dior-wearing Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne and Isla Fisher, who attended the shindig with her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen. The Les Misérables fete supported the Los Angeles Fund For Public Education, and drew other celebrities like Adrien Brody and Judy Greer. The celebration wasn't to be confused with the separate Vanity Fair party for Silver Linings Playbook, which also benefited education in LA and was held on the same night.

The pre-Oscars parties are just getting started, and the casts of both films will have plenty of chances to celebrate before the Oscars take place on Feb. 25.

Golden Globes winners Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman celebrated their wins with their fellow award recipients and Hollywood friends when they attended the NBC Golden Globes after party last night. Hugh posed with director Tom Hooper while Anne was joined by Les Misérables co-stars Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried and Sacha Baron Cohen on the red carpet. Sacha caused quite the stir at the Globes when he presented and proceeded to roast his fellow co-stars, including poking fun of Anne's now-infamous up-skirt incident at the film's premiere back in December. However, it looks like Anne wasn't offended by Sacha's ribbing as she happily smiled with him for photos. Jessica Chastain also attended the event and proudly showed off her award while grinning for the photographers.

Les Misérables: Stands on Its Own

To say that Les Misérables is a musical would be the understatement of the century.

To say that Les Misérables is a musical would be the understatement of the century. The dialogue in the film is sung nearly 100 percent of the time, setting it apart from pretty much every other musical-turned-movie. If three hours of straight singing doesn't sound like your cup of tea, then Les Mis probably isn't for you, but if you appreciate complex characters, an emotionally charged story, and yes, beautiful music, then you're in for a treat.

The story of Les Misérables is one of redemption, with Hugh Jackman carrying most of the burden as Jean Valjean, an ex-convict determined to get a fresh start and live as an honest man in 19th century France. Standing in his way is Javert (Russell Crowe), an inspector determined to put Valjean back in prison. The two square off again and again throughout the years, and along the way, Valjean rescues a poor girl named Cosette from the clutches of two dishonest innkeepers (played to comedic perfection by Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter) and eventually joins a Parisian uprising. To see where the film works and where it doesn't, just keep reading.

Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky hit the red carpet in London last night for British GQ's Men of the Year Awards. Elsa and Chris had a kid-free night out on the town. Four-month-old India Hemsworth was at home, though she's often spotted traveling the world with her famous parents, recently visiting far-flung locations like LA and Madrid. Elsa and Chris mingled at the bash with other celebs like Sacha Baron Cohen and Homeland's Damien Lewis. Stella McCartney also made the rounds with her husband, Alasdhair Willis. The whole celeb group was treated to a performance from NYC rapper Azealia Banks and jokes from hosts Jimmy Carr and David Walliams. Jimmy got things off on a cheeky note by saying, "Prince Harry would have been here tonight, but he didn't have anything to wear." Michael Fassbender took home a statue too as actor of the year.

Cannes Has Begun — See All the Pictures From Day One

The 65th Cannes Film Festival is underway, and jurors like Diane Kruger and Ewan McGregor gathered yesterday morning on the Croisette for a kickoff photo call.

The 65th Cannes Film Festival is underway, and jurors like Diane Kruger and Ewan McGregor gathered yesterday morning on the Croisette for a kickoff photo call. Diane posed for the assembled press in a chic, laced-up Versus by Versace number, but by the evening, had changed into a cool blue gown for the opening gala premiere of Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom. She shared the red carpet with other starlets like Jessica Chastain, L'Oréal brand ambassador Eva Longoria, and Bruce Willis.

There was plenty more going on yesterday as well. Moonrise co-stars Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman had a photo call, and Sacha Baron Cohen arrived at the festival as The Dictator, on a camel, and later horsed around on a yacht with Elisabetta Canalis. Meanwhile, his real-life wife, Isla Fisher, was off doing interviews with her Rise of the Guardians co-stars Chris Pine and Alec Baldwin.

Sacha Baron Cohen landed in Sydney this morning in character as General Aladeen from The Dictator.

Sacha Baron Cohen landed in Sydney this morning in character as General Aladeen from The Dictator. He was flanked by several women in uniform and wore grey pyjamas that had been jazzed up with gold epaulettes. The actor, who is married to Australian actress Isla Fisher, is in town to promote his film, and apparently got up to some mischief this morning when he told reporters, “I have come to meet Slippery Pete. The Slipper is great. What is his number? I need to hire him,” in reference to Peter Slipper, former Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives. Baron Cohen is known for causing a ruckus pretty much everywhere he goes when he’s in character.

Watch Sacha Baron Cohen, as The Dictator, Spill "Ashes" on Ryan Seacrest at Oscars

One of the most talked-about red carpet moments from the Oscars today was when Sacha Baron Cohen made his entrance dressed as his character from The Dictator.

One of the most talked-about red carpet moments from the Oscars today was when Sacha Baron Cohen made his entrance dressed as his character from The Dictator. His outfit was complete with an urn that he said was filled with the late Kim Jong-il’s ashes. Sacha’s first interview stop was with E!’s Ryan Seacrest, and while they were talking, Sacha tipped his urn and spilled the insides all over Ryan, who was dressed in a Burberry tux! Before he was taken away by security, he added, “Now if somebody asks you what you are wearing, you will say Kim Jong-il!” Just last week it was reported that the Academy had banned Sacha from the Oscars if he planned to come as General Aladeen, but it turns out that wasn’t the case in the end. See it unfold in the clip below.
