Shakira gave birth to a baby boy! The singer and her boyfriend, Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué, welcomed a son today in Barcelona. Shakira announced the baby's birthon her official website, saying "We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak", and that "just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth." She also included details on the meaning of the new baby's name.

Shakira tweeted to her fans earlier today, asking for prayers on "this very important day" in her life. The hospital has confirmed that both mother and baby are in excellent health. Congrats to Shakira on her new bundle of joy!

Shakira has announced that she’s pregnant! She’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Gerard Piqué. The singer shared her happy news with fans on her website:

As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days.

This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I’m sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there!

It’s not only Shakira’s personal life that has made headlines in recent days. It was just announced that she’ll be temporarily replacing Christina Aguilera as a coach on the fourth season of The Voice US, along with Usher, who’ll be taking Cee Lo Green’s place. Congrats to Shakira and Gerard!

The pregnant model was also missing from last night's annual Victoria's Secret show, though she caused a stir this week with her nude belly-baring picture in W. Ke$ha was colourful as she picked up her best new act gong at the MTV EMAs. Lady Gaga won three awards, including best female and best song, though she didn't attend.

Justin Bieber hosted the online coverage of the show via satellite link from the US and also was awarded two trophies.

Lots of gorgeous women walked the red carpet at the MTV EMAs in Madrid last night. Host Eva Longoria wore an LBD for her arrival outift, before undertaking multiple changes through the show. Last year's hostess Katy Perry went for a short red number, and posed solo as well as with hubby Russell Brand. Shakira also wore a leg-revealing dress and sparkled on the red carpet. Ke$ha co-ordinated her trousers with the purple carpet. Rihanna arrived looking lovely in a long gown and a sophisticated hairstyle. Today, we induct a newbie into the ever-growing category of celebrity fragrances — Shakira. The hip-shaking star plans to launch her first scent, S by Shakira come September. According to José Manuel Albesa of Puig, the manufacturer behind S, Shakira was "extremely hands-on" during the whole process.

The juice, which will feature notes of jasmine, sandalwood, benzoin, amber accord and vanilla, is a nod to scents she had an affinity for as a child: chocolate with strawberries, honey and a baby's skin. "Like a song, a perfume has different notes which together are the harmony," Shakira said of the experience. "My feeling is that personal care and beauty should not only be effortless but accessible for everyone," she added.

That's why you'll find S, encased in packaging with gold accents, in both department stores and pharmacies. And don't be surprised if the line eventually expands. "We have plans long term; first we want to concentrate on this and do it right," said Albesa.
