See Sophie Lowe as Alice in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

Like many of her Australian peers before her, Sophie Lowe is making the leap to American TV primetime in the new show Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which is a spin-off from the popular fairytale show Once Upon a Time.

Like many of her Australian peers before her, Sophie Lowe is making the leap to American TV primetime in the new show Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which is a spin-off from the popular fairytale show Once Upon a Time. Sophie plays Alice (and kind of resembles another famous Aussie Alice portrayer, Mia Wasikowska), who has been thrown into a mental institute by her father because she said she visited Wonderland, where she met and fell in love with a genie named Cyrus, and stumbled across the many things we’ve come to know of that wondrous land, including the White Rabbit and hookah-smoking Catepillar.

It has been revealed that Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’s first episode will open in Storybrooke, the fictional town in which Once Upon a Time is set. And while there will be crossover between the two shows, there won’t be too much — at least that’s the plan for now. The show has been picked up by US network ABC and Channel Seven screens Once Upon a Time in Australia, so there’s a good chance they’ll pick up this series, too. Watch the trailer and see Sophie as a fairytale heroine after the break.

Watch the Trailer For Rebel Wilson's New Show Super Fun Night

Rebel Wilson takes centre stage on her new show Super Fun Night, which she created and produces.

Rebel Wilson takes centre stage on her new show Super Fun Night, which she created and produces. Gone is the Australian accent in favour of an American one as she portrays junior attorney Kimmie Boubier, who for the past 13 years has spent every Friday night indoors with her two best friends Helen-Alice (Liza Lapira) and Marika (Lauren Ash). She decides it’s time to shake up their girls’ night in routine when she gets promoted and receives an invite from her office crush, Richard (Kevin Bishop), to a party at his club.

The first trailer is peppered with Rebel’s signature humour, even though it’s a little odd to hear her delivery in an American accent. And there’s the usual over-the-top character behaviour seen in most sitcoms. Still, it’s great to see three very different girls in the lead roles. The show is executively produced by Conan O’Brien and was picked up by US network ABC in the timeslot just after Modern Family. No word yet on if or when it will come to Australia (surely a local network will pick it up) but you can watch the first preview after the break.

See the Makeovers From The Biggest Loser: The Next Generation

The famed Biggest Loser makeovers took place on TV this week, and like most transformation episodes they didn’t disappoint.

The famed Biggest Loser makeovers took place on TV this week, and like most transformation episodes they didn’t disappoint. Father and son team Gerald and Todd were the first contestants to get the styling treatment — new clothes, haircuts and perhaps a spray tan — before the rest followed suit and were given brand new looks to go with their new bodies. Makeover episodes are always emotional but this year’s series, which is all about generational obesity, was particularly poignant as parents got to see their kids looking better than ever, and vice versa. Click through to see all the contestants’ new looks.

The Biggest Loser: The Next Generation airs Sunday to Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Network Ten.

Tension Between Delta Goodrem and Seal Apparent on The Voice

They’ve been the subject of hook-up rumours on this year’s series of The Voice, but based on the past few episodes it seems like there’s a different kind of tension between coaches Delta Goodrem and Seal. During the talent show’s recent Showdown episodes, the two singers haven’t seen eye-to-eye when giving feedback on the other’s contestants — obviously all the coaches are fiercely protective of the talent on their teams, but Seal and Delta’s disagreement over certain contestants, such as Seal’s artist Jac Stone, led to some unkind comments that never made the TV edit.

According to the Daily Telegraph, after Jac’s rendition of the song “Luka” on the episode that aired on Monday night, the coaches huddled together for their usual post-performance chatter and Delta said she thought Jac had gone a bit overboard with her expressions during the song, to which Seal apparently snapped, “You do that.” The comment never made it to air as it’s not in the positive spirit of the show.

Watch the Trailer For Arrested Development Season Four!

The final countdown is almost over!

The final countdown is almost over! New episodes of Arrested Development arrive on May 26 on Netflix, but we've got your first taste of new footage right here. The trailer for the fourth season already has me giggling at new developments, like seeing George Michael in college and Lindsay's new haircut, as well as the old standbys — like Kitty (Judy Greer) and the stair car. It wouldn't be Arrested Development without heaps of double entendres, and there's plenty of those in there too.

It has just been announced that Brad Pitt will be travelling to Australia to attend a local premiere of his new movie World War Z! The zombie thriller will hold its Sydney red carpet event on June 9 with the main man present on the scene ahead of its June 20 national release.

June will see another Hollywood heartthrob making his way Down Under — on the weekend it was confirmed that new Superman Henry Cavill will be on hand for the June 24 Sydney premiere of Man of Steel, which is released on June 27.

The excitement follows the return of The Great Gatsby cast at next week’s Australian premiere on May 22. And for TV fans, Revenge’s Gabriel Mann, who plays billionaire Nolan Ross, will also be coming this month for a publicity tour.

Rebel Wilson Gets Her Own US TV Show

Rebel Wilson’s career is going from strength to strength after it was announced she’ll be getting her own TV show in the US.

Rebel Wilson’s career is going from strength to strength after it was announced she’ll be getting her own TV show in the US. Titled Super Fun Night, the series’ premise follows three nerdy girlfriends who want to make sure every Friday night is a “super fun” one. US network ABC picked up the comedy, which was created by Rebel — on top of starring she’ll also produce. Conan O’Brien is also on board as an executive producer.

It’s just the latest example of Rebel having Hollywood wrapped around her finger. She’s raised her profile thanks to scene-stealing roles in Bridesmaids, Bachelorette and Pitch Perfect, and last month she had the honour of hosting the MTV Movie Awards. Her Australian TV credits include Pizza, The Wedge and Bogan Pride, which she wrote, produced and starred in.

The Block Sky High vs. House Rules — Which Renovation Show Will You Watch?

Channel Nine and Channel Seven are going head-to-head with their respective renovation shows.

Channel Nine and Channel Seven are going head-to-head with their respective renovation shows. Nine’s The Block already had one outing this year in the form of its All Stars version, but on Sunday night it will return with The Block Sky High, which sees five (not four) teams of two renovating each floor of a former South Melbourne hotel into a luxury apartment. It will mark the first time The Block takes on a state vs. state theme, and like previous series the prize for each team will be whatever profit they make over their apartment’s reserve price, with a bonus $100,000 for the team that makes the most money.

Over on House Rules, they’re testing out an original concept from the producers of ratings hit My Kitchen Rules. Six teams from different states hand over their keys to their fellow competitors, who have free reign over how they’ll renovate the house. (The houses are quite decrepit to begin with.) The teams have seven days to renovate a house before moving onto the next property — the team that owns that particular house is exempt for that week. Channel Seven has kept the grand prize under wraps and will apparently reveal it in the first three minutes of the show’s premiere on Tuesday night.

Basically, over the next few months we’ll be seeing lots of building, painting, decor shopping and more on our screens. Which renovation show will get your viewing time?

The Block Sky High premieres on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. on Channel Nine. House Rules premieres on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Channel Seven.
