Happy birthday LC! Today is Lauren's 27th birthday and to celebrate we're throwing the reality star — turned author — turned designer a celebratory birthday style stalk. If you're familiar with Lauren Conrad's first reality show you'll remember her sporting a classic Californian wardrobe of halter tops, lightwash jeans and thongs (or should I say flip-flops?). Noice. The Hills shortly followed (from '06 to '09) and so too did her wardrobe experimentation with different styles, including girly (floral dresses), rock (leather jackets and leggings), and classic looks (endless Chanel handbags); the majority now coming courtesy of her clothing label Paper Crown. Wanna stalk the birthday girl's style from the very beginning? Click on for a trip down LC lane.
Happy 27th Birthday, Lauren Conrad — Check Out Her Cutest Social Snaps!
Lauren Conrad turns 27 years old today! She became a household name when her run on Laguna Beach turned into a starring role in her own reality series. Even after her final episode of The Hills aired, LC kept her star rising by penning bestselling books, designing multiple fashion lines, and launching her own fashion and beauty blog. Lauren's shared her journey, from an OC high school student to a superstar, with the world, and since she started posting on Twitter and Instagram, we've gotten an even closer glimpse into her daily life. Take a look back at LC's cutest Twitpics and Instagram pics as we celebrate her big day!
We Still Love You LC: Why Lauren Conrad Is a Breath of Fresh Air
We still have a soft spot Lauren Conrad, even though the The Hills wound-up back in 2010. The reality star-cum-fashion designer has always had a knack for nailing that laid-back Cali-girl vibe, and coming up with pearlers of down-to-earth advice, be it style or love-life related. Have you read her book? LC landed herself the March cover of Lucky magazine, and being the gem that she is, she answered the reader-submitted questions with her usual honesty. God love her.
Is there a piece of style or beauty advice that you think sort of changed your life? I can’t remember who told me this, but it was ‘Get your clothes tailored.’ Like most people, I used to wear clothing off the rack. But having them fitted to me makes a really big difference, especially with pieces like a cocktail dress. Little nips and tucks can take 10 pounds off you.”
How did being a former reality TV star affect your reputation in the fashion industry? The TV show did not help my reputation very much. It was difficult to be taken seriously. But I think the fact that I went to school to study fashion and worked in the industry helped me. I think it’s a good thing to feel like you have to prove something, because you’re always going to have to work a little bit harder.
Are there any fashion moments you regret? I try to never look back at how I dressed in the first few seasons of Laguna Beach because it was pretty bad … head-to-toe bad. This past summer, MTV replayed every episode and I would always see it and be like, Ahh, noo! I wore these capri denim pants a lot and they were so bad.
Do you tinker with your boyfriend’s style? A little bit but not really. He’s just a jeans and T-shirt guy, which I like. I like no-fuss style. Sometimes I’ll buy him clothes and sneak them into his drawer!

Lauren Conrad Gets Back to Business Following Her Bora Bora Trip
Lauren Conrad stopped by the Kate Somerville spa in West Hollywood on Friday. The former The Hills star tweeted about taking "advantage of the beautiful, sunny day" by wearing a polka-dot dress and smiled as she headed back to her car. Lauren is returning to her West Coast routine after taking a tropical holiday to kick off the year. She and boyfriend William Tell traveled to Bora Bora, where, despite a few rainy days, they relaxed in the sun earlier this month. LC brought back a black pearl ring as a souvenir from her trip and also picked up a pair of vintage chairs from an LA flea market upon her return. LC is already off to a busy start in 2013 — she recently unveiled her Paper Crown Spring line and it's been very well received!

2012 MBFWA: WE by Whitney Eve and Whitney Eve
Whitney Port gave a very intimate showing to both her Whitney Eve, and new diffusion line, WE by Whitney Eve on day one of the MBFWA schedule. Taking her place in the centre of the installation-style presentation, the ex-Hills and City star looked genuinely happy to be on deck in Sydney and a little nervous when talking the awaiting throng through her new collection. It was everything you'd expect if you're familiar with Whitney's own laid-back Cali-girl sense of style. The less expensive, WE by Whitney Eve line was based on relaxed tailoring in pretty pastel hues and abstract prints, where as her mainline focused on more structured silhouettes — a metallic-flecked tweed shift, silver thread shorts and tux-inspired shrunken suit being particularly wearable options. The best news? Both collections will be available for sale in Australia from August and September at Sportsgirl as well as online via The Iconic and My Catwalk.
- Colours: Lilac, blush, black, white, grey and pale lemon.
- Trends: Relaxed tailoring, short suits, metallic knitwear, jumpsuits.
- Key Looks: Silver oversized knits, cropped silk tuxedo trousers, pretty prints and easy separates.
- Accessories: Courtesy of Sportsgirl; drop earrings, charm adorned necklaces and chunky, two-strap platform sandals.
Sharp Shifter: Copy Kristin Cavallari's Sexy Shift Dress Style

Kristin's got a thing for sharp, solid coloured shift dresses that show off her fab legs — when it ain't broke, why fix it huh KC? She's previously worked similar styles in neon pink and zingy tangerine, but this neutral hued number oozes understated style. The leggy blonde celebrated her new role as Chinese Laundry's web ambassador in minimalist cream minidress, complete with a cut-out back. We love that she lets the dress be the standout — with such a sexy piece, you need little else to make an impact. To finish, it's just a pair of nude (what else?) Chinese Laundry pumps, a coordinating clutch, and a pair of tortoiseshell drop earrings. Want to rival Kristin's sexy-chic ensemble? Simply shop our online edit...
Lucky Girl! Lauren Conrad Makes a Stylish Cover Girl
What else would Lauren Conrad wear on the cover of Lucky, but her own Paper Crown threads? And doesn't she wear them well! The reality star-turned-author-turned-fashion designer posed for the July issue in this chic leather shorts and blazer combo, handpicked from the Holiday line that we scoped earlier in the week. LC is also managing to squeeze in time for her Kohl's line, her new website The Beauty Department, a book club AND filming a new reality TV show (wonder is MTV if kicking themselves yet?). See what this Cali-girl had to say in her Lucky interview:
- On hating the gym: "I'm just not a fan of the gym. In fact, I hate it. I understand loving the feeling you get after working out all those endorphins. But going there? It's the worst."
- On why she did The Hills: "I never wanted to end up in entertainment; that wasn't the goal. I was doing the show to end up in fashion. But I'm totally aware that without The Hills, I wouldn't be where I am."
- On MTV not picking up her show: "It didn't feel like a perfect fit. It's difficult to compete with all the Jersey Shore type shows out there. Besides, there weren't any scenes of me getting drunk or fighting, so what's the point?"
Catch Whitney Port's Fringetastic Frock, From All Angles
We've missed seeing Whitney Port out and about of late, so when she stepped out at the Coca-Cola commemorative book launch in NYC recently, we took note. The City alumni brought her A-game with this flapper-inspired, fringe-tastic frock by Haute Hippy. The drop waisted, embellished style perfectly suits Whit's take on laid back glamour. Her choice of accessories was spot-on too, adding the perfect amount of sparkle and colour to her nude-hued dress. Want to see Ms Port's ensemble up close? Step inside. Nice to have you back, Whit!
Must Read: Lauren Conrad's New LA Candy Spinoff Trilogy
Congratulations to Lauren Conrad, who's having a bumper of a day! Not only does her book Sugar & Spice go on sale today in paperback, but she's just announced a three book deal with HarperCollins. She tweeted the good news this morning and we're toasting her success! Who needs a reality TV show when you've got a book (LA Candy) at number one on the New York Times best seller list, and a book deal for a trilogy up your sleeve? Wonder if MTV are rethinking their axing of LC's show? Lauren explained the new three part series by saying, "We took the mean girl of the (L.A. Candy books), spinning her off...This series is about a girl who loves everything that fame is, and that's all she's ever really wanted." Of the protagonist Madison she says, "She has fun with the press, she enjoys the attention, she welcomes scandal!" Hmmm, wonder if any of her Hills co-stars played any part in inspiring the main character? Could Lauren Conrad be the new Stephanie Meyers? We can only hope.
