Billy Ray Cyrus’ recently made a return to the headlines for talking about his family’s problems in GQ magazine, and he was going to make an appearance on US talk show The View before daughter Miley put a stop to it. Well, it seems he did end up doing an interview on the show, which will air on Friday US time. And he made a surprise announcement: he’s calling off his divorce from wife Tish. He said, “I want to put my family back together . . . Things are the best they’ve ever been.” He also took back what he said about Disney’s Hannah Montana — in his GQ interview he said the show was the blame for his family’s issues — and says fame in general is what ruined his family.

Ever since Miley Cyrus returned to our headlines — just things like getting her fifth tattoo and speaking about her bong situation in Marie Claire — it seems she’s brought her family back into the spotlight, too. Or at least her father, Billy Ray. He opened up about his dramas and scandals in the latest issue of US GQ magazine — going on about how blames Hannah Montana for pushing his young family into the limelight and how he’s “scared” for Miley — and it appears he was going to continue the conversation with an interview with Barbara Walters on The View. When Miley heard of the scheduled appearance, PopEater reports that “she went nuts. Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara and Whoopi] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.” It does seem odd that if Billy is trying to protect his family, his way of going about it is by publicising their problems even more. As if we didn’t know this already, BUT Miley Cyrus appeared on The View this morning and dropped the “L” word. Yes, Miley admitted that she’s in love with her Aussie boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, who is also her co-star in The Last Song. When asked about Liam she said, “Well, I like him very much.” Then Barbara Walters pressed on and asked if she was in L-O-V-E and Miley said yes, adding, “I know he’s a good person. We very much connect and we're very ambitious and have the same goals.” I met Liam last week and I thought I was in love with him. He kind of does that to you.
