TO ALL WHO COMMENT HERE. In the spider man comics peter parker was a humble guy and geek. And he kept that secret being a spider man, unlike this amazing spider man, straight away that girl already knew who he was, and the captain of the police knew him as well....WELL AMAZING SPIDER IS A CRAP....
I truly believe Andrew Garfield was a better actor for playing the role of Spider-Man as well as Peter Parker. First off, Andrew was and always will be passionate about Spider-Man. If you've watched his videos, he's stated that Spider-Man was his inspiration as a child, and still is. Next, he gave me feeling. For instance, when Uncle Ben died, just watching him cry in agony and yell for an ambulance felt so real- it felt like I was watching my close friend lose someone special to him. Also, Andrew did handle things better, which is also the script coming into play. They showed how Peter was nerd and extremely smart. They also showed how he felt about his parents. Furthermore, he mastered the role of Spider-Man. He was witty, a hero, and real. They also showed you how he really was Spider-Man and Peter and how it affected with his normal life. Usually it always seems that Peter and Spider-Man are two different people. Finally, I walked away from that movie with feeling-inspiration, hope, love, fear, happiness, sadness, just a mixture of feelings. Most movies can't give you that. The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield behind the mask is truly amazing, hands down.

Andrew Garfield is hands down the best Spider-Man ever! He portrays the comic Spidey more than anyone else has done before. Tobey MaGuire did a okay job and did good acting but the script lacks several elements that made Spider-Man who he really was. Andrew brought Spider-Man alive in ways of comedic fighting, a romantic ladies man, and someone who sticks up for other even without having powers. Andrew Garfield made the character smart and geek out with the science. Tobey's Spider-Man only portrayed a loser boy who is hopelessly and secretly in love with Mary Jane and lacks to show above average brilliance and smarts.
WHY DID JAMES FRANCO HAVE TO DIE?! he is a great actor. but yes, old spiderman was the best. it actually had most of america excited to see the next spiderman sequels. after watching the new spiderman, it was good, but it doesnt make me anticipate the next one like the trilogy did.
I liked both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man movies, so lets pu Andrew as Scarlet Spider & Keep Tobey as the Spider-Man we know & love! Compromise!

heck no. andrew garfield was by far the better spiderman, and this was the better movie. first off, gwen stacey came first in the comics, so the other movies suck for cutting out her character. second, mj fell in love with SPIDERMAN. she loves peter because he is a superhero, whereas gwen loves peter for who he is, and therefore loves spiderman. third, garfield's peter wasn't just geeky, he was still bullied by his classmates for sure, but he actually stood up to them. and seriously, tobey is wimpy looking, what is he 3 foot two? and you expect us to think a little tiny guy could become all that? sorry, no. Fourth, Garfield is hot. honestly, tobey is just not that good looking, im sorry thats horrible to say but come on, just LOOK at andrew garfield! next, garfield's spidey is hilarious! I was crying laughing most of that movie. he took spiderman's wits and just took it to a whole new level. With the food scene, the "small kinves are my weakness" scene, basketball theme, the organic eggs at the end scene, and just tons more!! And last, the chemistry between Garfield and Stone is amazing. They are together in real life so it makes the movie that much cuter. sorry this is so long...i'm fangirling
Tobey is d best for the role of spiderman.b'coz there is a lot of action i have seen in spiderman trilogy instead of andrew amazing spiderman he is acting nd roaming in d city like a clown nd funny joker. There is no seriousness jst nuissence character prevailed out and in spm trilogy there is many epic scenes nd consist of full action nd grt storyline which leads the spm tri.character for the best spm role.Nd i think jst b'coz of new face,new series or for new generation superhero andrew has got the role.Otherwise there is no doubt dat tobey is perfect for the role of spiderman.......
Garfeild was great, but tobey maguire was bigger and stornger than Garfield. Because of that it made me believe maguire was a better fit for the hero. Also maguire had a better fit for the hero!
For those of you saying/thinking that Andrew sucks... I DOUBT YOU CAN DO ANY BETTER. I mean,REALLY?! Andrew was truly AMAZING. I think he was better than Tobey. Tobey was amazing too but Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield brought in a new feeling of Spider-Man/ Peter Parker. Andrew made Peter more relatable. Andrew is so passionate about Spidey. His determination to make Spidey very similar to the comics is very inspiring. Andrew is now as big as Robert Pattinson, and Robert is VERY well-known. Andrew is going to go even further in life. Tobey will too. Tobey was enthusiastic when he found out Andrew was going to be the star. THEY WERE NOT TRYING TO REPLACE THE FIRST 3 MOVIES. IT IS A DIFFERENT VILLAIN, LOVE INTEREST, ETC. They're different but similar.
I thought Andrew Garfield was better than Tobey Maguire. I'm not just saying that because he's the next best thing. I really think he did a better job of playing Peter Parker and Spider-Man. I'm not saying i don't like Tobey. Tobey did an amazing job as well. Most people who prefer Tobey ONLY say that because he came first. Even then, IT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. Sure, they have similarities; love interest, villain, etc. It's a different love interest though. First was Mary Jane and now Gwen. It's also a different villain. 2 different stories. 2 different casts. Different everything just about. I think Andrew was better but don't get me wrong... I LOVE Tobey too!

I thought Emma Stone was pretty cute in it... but maybe I was just interested in the on-screen chemistry that lead to the off-screen romance!
they should have made Spider-Man 4 it would have been great like the whole trilogy was. Tobey Maguire way better then Garfield, there was no mention to Harry Osborne which sucked. Spider-Man Tobey Maguire is better
