Sienna Miller knows how to start (and own) a trend — boho chic, anyone? — but her latest turn toward a more feminine fit-and-flare silhouette is something she has actually loved for years. While Miller's long-sleeved, light blue Matthew Williamson box-pleat dress may be the most recent example of her penchant for the girlier style, she has also stepped out in Topshop, Valentino, and Twenty8Twelve iterations. And it's not hard to see why she loves a fit-and-flare dress — and why, if you haven't converted yet, it's a really flattering choice for most body types. By cinching the smallest part of your waist and letting the skirt flare out over the hips, it creates an illusion of a bombshell-like figure. And for those of you who aren't after a totally body-con fit, this route touches on something halfway to form-fitting. All the proof you need, according to Sienna Miller, is right here.

2013 Met Gala: Best Dressed
The 2013 Met Gala best-dressed set could easily be likened to the fashion Olympics, and this year's "Punk: Chaos to Couture" exhibition turnout made it harder than ever to pick only five gold-medal contenders. Beyoncé Knowles spared no head-turning detail in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture flame-embroidered gown; Gwyneth Paltrow stood out in a covered-up hot pink Valentino number; Rooney Mara played the edgy card in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown, complete with floral embroidery, zippers, ruffles, and a split-front opening; Jennifer Lawrence chose ladylike Dior (and that Jennifer Behr netted veil!); and Diane Kruger dazzled in a punked-up Chanel couture creation. It's a close one, but it's time for you to declare a best-dressed winner of the night.

2013 Met Gala: Anne Hathaway
Add Anne Hathaway to the list of Hollywood good girls who ditched their usual look and embraced the Met Gala's edgier theme instead. The actress not only slipped into a sultry, sheer vintage Valentino gown, but she also showed off a new punky bleach-blonde hair colour — a look she says was inspired by Debbie Harry. She finished it off with eclectic rings and electric polish. So, did Anne nail it?

2013 Met Gala: Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow has bucked the studded/leather-clad/rock 'n' roll trend for this year's Met Gala, working this very sophisticated hot pink Valentino gown. She explained the choice by saying, "It's punk in that I've gone totally classic on a punk night." She kept the accessories to a bare minimum, wearing only a pair of classic diamond studs and her Ascher-cut wedding ring. Thoughts?
