Stars Kick Off Statue Season With the Gotham Awards
The 2011 Gotham Independent Film Awards helped kick off the season of red carpet gowns, acceptance speeches, and star-studded celebrations in NYC yesterday. Award season is officially around the corner, and the action will really start heating up with the nominations for the Film Independent Spirit Awards today. At last night's party, Charlize Theron wowed in a revealing Gucci dress as she joined her Young Adult co-star Patton Oswalt on stage. Elizabeth Olsen wore Valentino and was a nominee in the best breakthrough actor category for her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene, though the statue went to Like Crazy's Felicity Jones in the end. The big winners during the show were The Tree of Life and Beginners, which tied for Best Feature. Check out all the winners on Hollywood Reporter.
Jake and Michelle Stay Close at Their Source Code Premiere

Jake Gyllenhaal cosied up to his Source Code co-star Michelle Monaghan last night on the black carpet at their big LA premiere. The actors also had Vera Farmiga, along with her husband, Renn Hawkey, and Jeffrey Wright on hand for the debut of the thriller and love story mix, in which Jake's character relives an eight-minute period over and over. PopSugar US snagged a minute with Jake on his way inside, and he divulged that, unlike his role, there isn't much in his life he'd choose to do again. He has a no-looking-back policy ever since his buddy Chris Cooper gave him a piece of advice, saying it's best to live without regrets.
Jake Kicks Off the SXSW Festival With Michelle and Vera

Jake Gyllenhaal was a lucky man with his two beautiful co-stars, Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan, on either arm at the SXSW premiere of their movie Source Code last week. Their romance and action-packed film brought big name talent to the festival, though Jake's experience there wasn't all quite so smiley. That night Jake had an unfortunate run-in with a fan, when he caught a guy snapping a picture of him in a restroom. Things got heated for a moment, but it got sorted out, and the photo was deleted. During Saturday's discussion panel Jake had this to say about the incident, "I think it’s an appropriate space to keep privacy. I hope that people wouldn’t disagree with me on that." The hot actor seemed to be good-natured about the whole thing and was also excited that the trip to Austin, TX meant bringing his best friend who lives there to the red carpet screening.

The Black Swan star, who won the best actress award, stepped out in her latest baby bump-accommodating ensemble after joining her director, Darren Aronofsky, and co-star Mila Kunis at a pre-Oscar party earlier this week. Vera Farmiga and Nicole Kidman chose red for the afternoon celebration while Kerry Washington and Eva Mendes stood out in beautiful prints.
Winter's Bone star Jennifer Lawrence was on trend in a white, floor-length gown. Amanda Peet and Twilight's Anna Kendrick chose classic black and white combos, while Zoe Saldana and Rosario Dawson went wild with animal print.

Pop Poll: Who Was Worst Dressed at the Costume Institute Gala?
The red carpet at yesterday's Met Costume Institute Gala was full of amazing looks. As usual, though, a few outfits fell flat (Katy Perry, January Jones, Tina Fey, we're looking at you). So tell us—who do you think was the worst dressed on the Gala red carpet?
2010 Met Costume Institute Gala: Vera Farmiga
Unlike many guests tonight, Vera Farmiga brought colour to the carpet. Her blue Sophie Theallet frock says super romantic, and matches her baby blues beautifully. The black ribbon detail adds definition, while statement Van Cleef & Arpels earrings and ring provide sparkle. Rate it or hate it?

Most stars chose to forgo a red lip in favour of something nude, but a few cheeky celebs opted for a flirtatious and girly pink. Maggie went for neon magenta, Sandra chose a rich watermelon, Vera went for a light tint, while Kelly wore a baby pink gloss. Who do you think looks best?
