The Dark Knight Rises was always bound to make headlines this week with the release of the anticipated blockbuster, but it made the news in a way no one could’ve imagined when a gunman opened fire in an Aurora, Colorado cinema during one of the midnight screenings early Friday morning. The cast and director Christopher Nolan were due to hit the red carpet in Paris after successful premieres in NYC and London, but the event was cancelled and the cast have gone home.
