"A combination of different brands make up my must-have [products] list, and after chatting with Tash one day we were like — imagine if you could get everything in one place, essentially buy your look in a kit. . . And that's how the It Kits were born," says visual merchandiser and style blogger Elle Ferguson. One tanned and toned half of the popular Sydney-based blog, They All Hate Us, Elle and her partner in fashion, Tash Sefton, have teamed up with makeup artist (and recent POPSUGAR Australia Beauty Awards judge) Max May to produce bi-monthly get-the-look kits. Aptly named the Elle Kit and the Tash Kit, brands on board include St. Tropez, Dermalogica, Giorgio Armani and Benefit Cosmetics.
"We met Max last year when he did our makeup for a photo shoot," Tash says of their relationship with celebrity and editorial makeup artist, Max. (Beauty note: He's known in all the right circles as the skin king for his ability to achieve a stunningly luminous finish. See Lara Bingle.) "He really is an amazing makeup artist and has taught us so much about how to get the right look the right way, while still remaining us," she says.
"We always ask him so many questions about his secrets, and thought it would be great to share these with our readers. We have filmed him teaching us so now our readers can watch him in action [in the new e-magazine, The Beauty Edit] and learn what we have. The Kits are also a way to try out new products you may not have known about."
