Elizabeth Banks has gone from elaborate eyeshadow and nails in The Hunger Games to playing a pregnant women in What to Expect When You're Expecting to being a 1930s vamp for Allure magazine. Quite the change of pace! But a fun one for someone who concedes that she thought acting was out of reach because she didn't measure up to the ideal: "I thought I had chicken legs, and I thought, Oh, my boobies are too small. It was the era of Cindy Crawford and The Body—and I didn't have that." Clearly more at ease with her body nowadays, the 37-year-old actress channelled another era for the beauty bible's cover, with makeup inspired by the "early-1970s looks of Patti Hansen and Lauren Hutton," according to makeup artist Romy Soleimani who described the look as "beautiful skin and a nice dose of mascara." Take a sneak peek at the shoot now and head over to Allure for more behind-the-scenes action.
