Men's and Women's Beauty Habits Revealed

Battle of the Sexes: Girls and Guys' Beauty Habits Revealed

It looks like guys may be catching up to the girls when it comes to maintenance. New stats on men and women's grooming habits were released this week showing that men are spending more time than ever preening themselves. The stats were released as part of US Allure and GQ Magazine's 2010 Grooming and Beauty Study and contain some interesting revelations . . .

  • Women still spend more time on their beauty routines but men are hot on their heels. Women spend 29 minutes preening daily, while dudes clock up 22 minutes on their regime, a full two minutes more than the average five years ago.
  • Keep reading . . .They're also under more pressure than ever to be attractive and are buying more grooming products to achieve this. 72 percent of men said they felt they had to look good. Although, 93 percent of them still said they hated the term metrosexual and viewed it as dated and offensive!
  • Women are feeling under more pressure to look young with 92 percent saying they felt they should now appear younger than their age. To that end they're spending more than double what they did five years ago on lotions and potions. No wonder a GFC hit.
