Jennifer Hudson Hangs Courtside With 13-Year-Old Son David

Jennifer Hudson and her 13-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., had a rare family outing on Sunday evening. On March 26, the mother-son duo sat courtside as the Chicago Bulls beat the Lakers in Los Angeles. The basketball fans laughed and smiled for cameras from their front-row seats as they enjoyed the game, which included LeBron James’s return after missing 13 games due to injury.

Hudson wore a casual denim-on-denim outfit with sneakers and sunglasses, while her mini-me similarly dressed in a laid-back all-black ensemble. The powerhouse and talk show host is no stranger to a sporting event. In fact, Hudson and her son have been spotted at several basketball games in the past. The two recently traveled to Salt Lake City in February and Cleveland back in 2022 for NBA All-Star Weekend events.

“Now when did my son get taller than me?!!” the EGOT winner wrote alongside clips and photos from their family weekend on Instagram. “We celebrated my brother Jason’s birthday in style at @nbaallstar weekend in Salt Lake City ! I had to put on my good shoe my boys got me for the game! Thank u @nba for such an amazing time !” While it’s not often Hudson brings her son into the spotlight, he’s accompanied her to sporting events and film premieres over the years.

Hudson shares her son with ex-fiancé David Otunga, a former WWE wrestler and actor. After 10 years together, the two split in November 2017, with Hudson filing an emergency order of protection against him, which she later dropped.
