Molly Ringwald and Daughter Mathilda Get Glammed Up For a Rare Red Carpet Outing

Molly Ringwald and her eldest child, Mathilda, are raising the bar for mother-daughter date nights. The duo made a glamorous appearance at the American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala in New York City on Oct. 24 and coordinated in sequined looks for the occasion. Ringwald channeled her “Pretty in Pink” character in a sheer long-sleeved gown layered over a light-pink slip, while Mathilda wore a shiny silver midi dress. They sparkled like the stars they are on the red carpet and posed alongside other attendees, including fashion designer Zac Posen and his fiancé, Harrison Ball.

The gala was a rare outing for Ringwald, 55, and Mathilda, who turned 20 this month. They previously stepped out together for a Rodarte dinner during New York Fashion Week in February, but their last joint appearance before that was at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Mathilda often tagged along with Ringwald at events throughout childhood, attending several movie premieres and benefits, but seeing her all grown up and conquering the red carpet like a pro proves she’s definitely learned a few pointers from her famous mom.

Ringwald shares three children with husband Panio Gianopoulos: Mathilda and 14-year-old twins Roman and Adele, whom she welcomed at age 41. The actor gives fans sporadic peeks at life in the Ringwald-Gianopoulos household, sharing throwback baby pictures and footage from family vacations on Instagram. So far, it looks like Mathilda is the only one interested in the limelight; she made her modeling debut in a J.Crew campaign in 2017 and is playing a minor role in the upcoming film “The Idea of You” starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.
