We're not sure if it's that we're getting closer to the party season or what, but something's got all our favourite celebrities getting out and about — and sharing their personal lives — more than ever. Jennifer Aniston debuted her massive engagement ring when she hit the streets with her soon-to-be hubby Justin, Kristen Stewart took in a concert with her dad (cute!), Kate Middleton shared a laugh with an adorable young fan and the One Direction boys hit an awards show together in London. As for Australia? Well, we were treated to visits from Hollywood heavyweight Benicio Del Toro and actress/style icon Kate Bosworth — one hit Melbourne, while the other stormed Sydney — for two very different reasons. That's not all, of course! There was plenty more celeb action through the week — just click through the gallery to catch up on it all!
Blake Lively stole the spotlight in a striking Zuhair Murad gown at today’s LA premiere of Savages (out Sep. 27). The Gossip Girl beauty completed her look with bombshell waves and red lipstick, and posed for photos with producer Eric Kopeloff. Also at the premiere of the Oliver Stone-directed thriller was John Travolta, who indulged in lots of PDA with his wife, Kelly Preston. Salma Hayek and Benicio Del Toro stuck together on the red carpet, while Oliver made the rounds with Emile Hirsch.
UPDATE: Kimberly Stewart and Benicio Del Toro’s baby’s name is Delilah! Rod Stewart shared the happy news during an exclusive radio interview with Jono Coleman and Ian “Dano” Rogerson yesterday (the full interview can be heard after 4 p.m. on Thursday on WSFM), and also said of Benicio, “We gave each other big hugs . . . he’s a lovely guy.”
Kimberly Stewart has given birth to a baby girl! It’s her first child, and the baby’s father is actor Benicio Del Toro. While the two are no longer in a relationship, Benicio’s rep told Us Weekly that the actor is “very supportive” of Kimberly and the baby.
Kimberly also had the support of her parents, Rod Stewart and Alana Collins, and stepmother Penny Lancaster during the birth on Sunday. The newborn, whose name hasn’t been released, is the first grandchild for Rod and Alana. Congrats to Kimberly and Benicio!
Today brought the latest addition to Hollywood's long list of expecting parents — Kimberly Stewart is pregnant with Benicio Del Toro's baby! Kimberly and Benicio are not a couple, but the duo are apparently both very excited. Kimberly was linked to Jude Law a few years ago after calling off her engagement to Laguna Beach's Talan Torriero in 2005, while Benicio's been more focused on his acting career recently. The child will be the first for both celebs in addition to the first grandchild of Rod Stewart, who just welcomed his own eighth kid last month. Congrats to the parents-to-be!
Elle Fanning posed with her onscreen dad Stephen Dorff and director Sofia Coppola at the LA premiere of Somewhere last night. The trio reunited at the Louis Vuitton-hosted event after Sofia and Stephen attended the film's Parisian debut last month. Elle is following in her older sister Dakota's actor footsteps by taking on more mature projects. The younger Fanning recently signed on to work with another big-name director, Cameron Crowe, in the upcoming adaptation of We Bought a Zoo. Other celebs spotted at the premiere included Isabel Lucas, Chloe Sevigny, Juliette Lewis and Benicio Del Toro. Somewhere is released on Boxing Day in Australia.
Diane Kruger looked heavenly in hot pink, while Kirsten Dunst looked just as bright in blue at Sunday night's Cannes closing ceremony event. Salma Hayek was in yet another glamorous gown after showing off quite the collection from the first red carpet to the final one. Kate Beckinsale's duty as a juror also came to a close with the festival's annual award presentation, where the Palme d'Or and other accolades are handed out. A film from Thailand, Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives won the coveted Palme d'Or and Javier Bardem was named Best Actor for his work in Biutiful—an award he shared with Elio Germano from Italy. Diane presented to both Javier and Elio and the two shook on stage as they accepted their joint honours. Javier's two main women—his mum and Penelope Cruz–were both in the audience to cheer him on. Penelope skipped the posing, but held tight to Javier as they ducked out at the end of the evening. Gael Garcia Bernal also took the stage as his movie Letters to Juliet had a quiet weekend at the box office. Another Cannes on the French Riviera may be over, but it's never too early to start looking forward to next year!
The annual amfAR charity auction was a star-studded affair in Cannes Thursday night and afterward a handful of big names headed to the Artists for Peace and Justice bash at the VIP Room. The Cannes Film Festival had its first red carpet last night, with celebrities heading out for the gala premiere of Robin Hood and an official dinner afterwards. The movie's stars, Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe, were together again following their photo call earlier in the day. Cate turned heads in her voluminous gown, while Russell stayed close to his wife Danielle Spencer. Member of the jury Kate Beckinsale also decided to go big with her pouffy frock. Eva Longoria changed out of her own casual wear from the afternoon to hit the carpet with fellow L'Oreal model Aishwarya Rai. Salma Hayek was in a maroon number with her husband Francois-Henri Pinault and Helen Mirren stepped out in demure black to join in on the fun. Other jurors like Tim Burton and Gael Garcia Bernal, meanwhile, kept an eye on things in their tuxes.
