Australian entertainment industry magazine Encore took to the public — well, 3,500 people — to find out who the country’s most liked celebrities are. (While they were at it, they also worked out the nation’s most disliked celebrities.) The interesting thing about the lists is that the top two on both hold the same position from last year, proving that Australia’s love (or hate) for them isn’t fleeting. The most liked list, which is made up of mostly actors and a couple of comedians, also makes it seem like Aussies prefer veteran stars who have also experienced international success — at 31, Hamish Blake is the youngest in the top 10. Giorgio Armani and Cate Blanchett on Their Fragrance Together
Cate Blanchett has served as the muse for Giorgio Armani, frequently wearing his creations on the red carpet, but now her role is expanding into the designer's beauty brand, too. The actress was recently confirmed as the new face of Armani fragrances. "I have known and admired Cate Blanchett for many years," Armani told WWD. "As I was developing the Sì project, defining the fragrance and imagining the bottle, I instinctively thought of her, and of the passion that can be perceived behind her impeccable manners and confident look — a seductive combination that fully respects the spirit of my new perfume." The chypre fragrance mixes notes of cassis nectar, freesia, and vanilla.
The contract will include a print magazine campaign as well as a short film and digital ads. All the fanfare is slated to roll out this August (starting in the UK). Cate will serve as the first celebrity to represent Giorgio Armani fragrances, which has relied on models in previous years. "With my very first paycheck as an actress, I bought an Armani suit, and I still have it and love it," said Blanchett. "For me, fragrance contains memory, the scent of your mother, your friends . . . I think fragrance is a really subtle but important way in which women express themselves and express who they aspire to be." And who better than the woman who inspires Armani's fashion designs to also front his fragrance offerings?

Miranda Kerr Puts Her Best Foot Forward to Model the New Qantas Uniform

The “fresh, modern and bold” uniforms, which have divided fashion critics, feature a red, hot pink and navy colour palette, and will be seen on Qantas customer-facing employees by 2014.
The attention wasn’t just on the catwalk, though, as Cate Blanchett brought some star power to the front row and enjoyed the show next to Qantas CEO Alan Joyce. Aussie TV personalities Magdalena Roze, Sophie Falkiner and Laura Csortan were also busy snapping pictures on their phones.

The Week in Pictures: Chris Hemsworth, Kate Middleton's Baby Bump, Miranda & More!
The lead up to the Oscars (the show's on tomorrow!) is always a busy time for celebrities, and it seems like this week has been one of the most hectic yet! Between the Brit Awards on Wednesday night, a few movie premieres and screenings and a lot of pre-Oscars parties, we had a lot to keep up with! Miranda Kerr and her husband Orlando Bloom put an affectionate end to rumours about marriage problems, while another Aussie, Chris Hemsworth, brought his young family to Sydney for a quick work-related trip. Kate Middleton stepped out on royal duty, with a very special bump on board, and Rihanna celebrated her birthday with on-again boyfriend Chris Brown. That's not even close to all that happened this week — click through to see the whole week in pictures!
The Sugar Diary: Our Week in Pics
It's been a big week here in Sydney, with lots of red carpet events and celebrity sightings to fill up our time. PopSugar editor Jess was up to her ears in Aussie stars (and a couple international) when she hit both the AACTA Awards and the Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters premiere in Sydney. We spied so many gorgeous dresses on people like Cate Blanchett and Jessica Mauboy, and we were loving Megan Gale's dark, voluminous waves when she stepped onto the carpet. Ali went to fashion showings and received a very cool, very Chanel gift, while Alison's been trying out some new nail polish colours and perfecting her travel beauty kit. There's plenty more behind-the-scenes action to see — click through to check it out!
