David Fincher is currently putting the final touches on The Social Network, but the director of Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has already set his sights on his next project. Fincher is slated to direct Pawn Sacrifice, a biopic on the life of chess prodigy Bobby Fischer.
Fincher has quite the penchant for telling darker stories (hello, Seven), so I can see him getting into the nitty gritty of Fischer's life and not just glamourising his talent. Tobey Maguire will produce and apparently a ton of other big names have already expressed interest in the project. But that's hardly surprising. Biopics are still all the rage in Hollywood these days and with Fincher's involvement, I can practically hear the award nominations already.
File this under wishful thinking: Sharon Osbourne recently declared that she'd like to be portrayed by Carey Mulligan in the movie she wants to make about husband Ozzy Osbourne's life, I Am Ozzy. The An Education's breakout ingenue and Oscar nominee might seem like a stretch for the Osbourne matriarch, but I have to admit that if you were thinking of who could play you in a biopic, you'd have to go big. And with Hollywood casting in biopics traditionally forgiving in the looks department, there is a little room to reach.
I'd love for someone like Rachel McAdams or Zooey Deschanel to play me, since they're both beautiful and talented (a girl can dream, right?) So tell me, in your fantasy biopic, which actor would you want to play the role of you? (And just for fun: who would play your love interest?)
Queen Latifah may not be the most critically-acclaimed actress, but there's no denying that the woman's likable. In her upcoming film Just Wright, she plays a physical therapist named Leslie Wright who treats an NBA star (Common) to bring him back to peak condition. Her closest friend Morgan (Paula Patton) takes a liking to him and they begin dating until Morgan realises his career (and baller status) is in jeopardy and bails. Leslie is there to pick up the pieces, but as she gets closer, things take a romantic turn.
I know it seems like I just gave the whole movie away, but trust me, it's all in the trailer. It's a formula really: Latifah is the tough (but sensitive!) career woman who can't find the right man; her inspirational song "Champion" plays in the background. That doesn't mean it won't rope me in though, at least as a rental later on. But take a peek and tell me your take.

The Iron Man is going to blast off! Robert Downey Jr. has lined up his next big blockbuster; the actor is in talks to star in Gravity, a sci-fi film directed by Alfonso Cuaron. RDJ will play the main character—the leader of a group of astronauts who is left alone in orbit when his team is destroyed by an exploded satellite. It's a role that Angelina Jolie was reportedly attached to before, but I have no trouble envisioning RDJ in the role.
This is just the latest in Downey Jr.'s string of action flicks—Iron Man 2 is out April 29 and he starts shooting the sequel to Sherlock Holmes later this year. That said, Gravity will go somewhere the actor hasn't gone before: it will be in 3D!
Last week's release of the trailer for Eclipse, the next movie in the Twilight saga, was only partially satisfying. The quick preview really only focused on the love triangle of Bella, Edward and Jacob, but it left me wondering when we would see the Cullens and the army of newborn vampires, not to mention all that action we've been hearing about for months.
Luckily, the New Moon DVD has a special treat: Eclipse footage! There are clips of the film, including action sequences, our beloved Cullen family, plus interviews with the cast about the central war and new director David Slade. To see the new footage, just keep reading.

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning brought The Runaways to LA over the weekend with the real-life band members Cherie Currie and Joan Jett out to show their support. Both girls looked fantastic—get Kristen's hair here. We talked to Dakota about her favourite part of the film and loved seeing all the ladies together on the red carpet. Check out our 10 favourite moments from the big event!
Remember Me hits theatres this weekend, which meant that Robert Pattinson fans everywhere flocked to the cinema—despite lukewarm reviews. I admit that Pattinson is enjoyable to watch even though the film isn't all that great, making me wonder how I'd feel about the movie if the role had gone to another actor.
Most of Hollywood's biggest stars have had at least a few questionable career choices, but everyone has a favourite actor they'll see no matter how bad the movie looks. My own short list includes George Clooney, Paul Rudd, and Rachel McAdams. What about you—which actors have your unwavering support?

We've seen mothers and daughters swap places (Freaky Friday), fathers and sons (Like Father Like Son). We've seen Tom Hanks play a 30-year-old with a mind of a kid (Big) and Rob Schneider as a man trapped in the body of a high school girl (The Hot Chick). Apparently Hollywood still hasn't tired of pulling the old switcheroo and the next actors to do it are Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman.
The guys have signed on for David Dobkin's The Change-Up, focusing on a grounded family man (Bateman) who trades lives and bodies with his slacker best friend (Reynolds). Sounds like a par for the course comedy for Bateman, whereas this may give Reynolds a chance to take a break from playing the dreamy love interest he usually embodies in big screen comedy. I know the premise has been done to death, but I'd be lying if I said the story still isn't rife for a few chuckles, especially since I love both Reynolds and Bateman. Besides, more than once I've thought about how interesting it would be if I had to do one of my friends' jobs for a day (admit it— you've got friends with jobs you don't entirely understand). But I digress: are you on board with another big screen out-of-body experience?
Robert Pattinson made his first post-Twilight movie debut, taking on Alice in Wonderland at the box office this weekend. We'll have to wait to see how the heartthrob fared against the likes of Depp and DiCaprio, but I'm more interested to see what happens when he's pitted against his costar (and real-life love interest) Kristen Stewart. Her movie, The Runaways, will be added to the mix in the US next week, putting the two movies head-to-head. It's a tough call; I've seen both movies and while Pattinson seems to have more die-hard fans, overall The Runaways is a better movie than Remember Me. What's your prediction?
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning kept the celebrations going as they went from their big LA premiere of The Runaways to the afterparty at the Cabana Club. Taylor Lautner stopped to sign a few autographs for fans before joining the girls, while Kristen changed into something more comfortable. Joan Jett kept the girls laughing in the VIP section, after Dakota and Kristen had done a long day of press for their movie. A kiss between Kristen and Dakota has lots of people interested in the film, but for Kristen, it was no big deal. "It was cool. I didn't mind it," she said. "The way that it happens in the script is so just a sort of moment in time and fun and natural and sort of impulsive."
