Armie Hammer Interview in Town & Country Magazine

Armie Hammer and His Wife on Their Decision to Marry Young

Armie Hammer and his wife, Elizabeth Chambers, teamed up for the cover of Town & Country magazine's August 2013 issue. This is the second time that Armie has been featured in the magazine after it covered his wedding in its January 2011 edition. Elizabeth also modelled for the April issue later that year. This time, the couple sat down for an interview together and revealed their decision to get married at such a young age and how Armie views talking about "the craft" of acting. Keep reading for more from Armie and Elizabeth.

  • Armie on playing the Winklevoss twins: "The Winklevoss brothers' great achievement, a big source of pride, comes from the fact that they went to Harvard. And I'm a guy who dropped out of high school. My parents thought I was an idiot. They thought it was ridiculous to drop out in 11th grade to be an actor. So, no offence to the Winklevoss brothers, but really we couldn't be more different."
  • Elizabeth on their decision to get married: "When we finally got together, Armie really wanted to get married. He sat me down and said, 'Look, we don't have to do this. We could just go our own ways, and then one day you'll be 40 and divorced and we'll run into each other, and we'll laugh and go out to dinner and have this same connection, and we'll wonder why we wasted all of that time. Or we could just do it now and enjoy the ride.'"
  • Armie on talking about the craft of acting: "I don't like to talk about the craft of acting. It's like asking a guy who screws lug nuts for a living to talk about his technique."
