Australian Cricketers and Their Wives and Girlfriends on the 2011 Allan Border Medal Red Carpet

Aussie Cricket Has a Glam Night Out at the Allan Border Medal

Last night Australian cricketers and their glamorous partners dressed up for the Allan Border Medal in Melbourne, which recognises the most outstanding cricketer of the season. The top individual honour of the night went to Shane Watson for the second year in a row, and he also received his second consecutive one-day international player of the year award and his first Test player of the year award. His wife Lee Furlong had her moment in the spotlight on the red carpet, where she wore a one-shouldered white gown. While most players made their entrances with their gorgeous wives or girlfriends — the event would’ve been great material for the new show WAG NationMichael Clarke turned up with teammate Shaun Tait (last year Lara Bingle was on his arm). The night also gave the sportsmen a chance to catch up with friends and party away any blues following the disappointing Ashes result. Hopefully they’ll have better luck at the World Cup!
