When Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom announced that they had separated in late October, a rep for Orlando said, "In a joint statement, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have announced that they have been amicably separated for the past few months. After six years together, they have recently decided to formalize their separation. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family." It came as a shock because it was only the month before that the former couple showed some rare PDA at the after party for Orlando's Romeo and Juliet Broadway debut.
Interestingly, Miranda and Orlando were rarely photographed together, but it was only after news of their split broke that they were snapped in the same frame looking very amicable with their son Flynn, who turns three in January. Orlando has also been very diplomatic when asked about their situation when he's had to do press for his play or The Hobbit, saying repeatedly things like, "We're a family and we'll always love each other and we're going to be in each other's lives." Miranda also opened up for the first time in the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, saying, "We still love and care for each other deeply. Flynn [their two year old son] is the most important thing in both our lives. And because we share that bond, we both feel that it's important to be united."
Since their separation, Miranda has been linked to billionaire James Packer, who split from his wife Erica Packer earlier this year.
