David Beckham and his team LA Galaxy took the field to play the Seattle Sounders in their season opener yesterday. Victoria and their sons Brooklyn, Cruz, and Romeo watched from home as David and his team clinched a win, though she seemed curious about what fans thought of his headband. She's happy to be back in California after a stint in London working on her projects with Range Rover and other design endeavours. To prep for his official return to the field, David called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show yesterday morning to chat about soccer and the news he and wife Victoria are expecting a girl. David talked about how excited his sons are for the new arrival, and also shared about his and Victoria's plans to attend the royal wedding. He said:
On his upcoming delivery: "We're obviously expecting and obviously everyone knows now it's a girl, which we're still kind of in shock with."
On having hoped to have a girl: "No! Not at all. It's something we obviously hoped for but obviously when you have a baby you kind of just think, as long as it's healthy and everything's good with the baby and obviously the mum then that's all you worry about. But obviously when you've had three boys you just kind of assume that you're going to have another one. But when we went to have the three month scan they said, Oh it looks like a boy and we thought, Oh, OK! Great! We're going to have another boy — almost five-a-side. Then we went back and they said, 'Actually it's a girl!' The emotion hit us. It's amazing!"

On perhaps keeping the gender a surprise: "We kind of was going to have a surprise but we haven't done with the other three. It's nice to be prepared. Some people like to have that surprise, but it's good to be prepared. The boys are so excited as well thinking they're going to have a little sister, it's so exciting for them."
On attending the royal wedding: "Yes, we're gonna be going. We obviously got the invitation, which we're obviously really excited about. So we're very proud of our royal family, and it's gonna be an amazing occasion. You know the excitement for our country that comes with the wedding and for a royal wedding has always been amazing, so to be invited to it, to be able to be going to it . . . We're both excited. Victoria is obviously a little bit worried because she'll be a few more months pregnant by then, but she's excited as well. We're both proud to be going."
