Deni Hines Controversial Quotes From The Celebrity Apprentice Australia 2011

5 of Deni Hines' Controversial Quotes on Celebrity Apprentice

Last night’s grand final episode of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia may have been about determining who the winner of the inaugural series was — the delightful Julia Morris — but it also featured a lot of Deni Hines, who emerged as the show’s “villain” from early episodes. From her refusal to acknowledge The Block winner Polly Porter as a celebrity, to not wanting to ruin her “brand,” to her issues with former Miss Universe Jesinta Campbell, Deni didn’t hold back. Here are some of the controversial things she said on camera during the series:

In the boardroom after being called out for not writing a KFC jingle
“Mr. Bouris, I really have a problem. I write songs for a living. That’s my job. And I just didn’t feel that I could write a song for something I fully don’t believe in. I’m a vegetarian . . . I have a brand to protect. Mine is music. And that’s what I do. And if that’s what gets me fired, then so be it, because I can’t do that.”

Working on a 30-second TVC for Yellow Brick Road
[To Jesinta] “I usually charge a lot of money per word.”
[To camera] “I don’t do jingles.”

While on the phone to her ‘music man’ and Jesinta is trying to hurry her conversation
[To camera] “She’s hurrying me off — she does this — hurrying me off the phone, and . . . You cannot hurry a creative moment. I’m sorry, I’m talking to the music guy.”
[To Jesinta] “You cannot rush musical people . . . You want me to work with you, or against you? If you want me to work with you, back down.”

When Jesinta asks if the recording of the jingle is ready
[To camera] “Home girl decides she wants to give me grief. She now wants it ASAP. And I’m just looking at her like, ‘Listen. People in hell want ice water. But it ain’t gonna happen. Honey, you’re messing with the wrong black woman today. I don’t know how many sistas were in Miss Universe. I don’t know how many sistas you’ve met before. But you need to step away from this vehicle before I go off like a missile.’”

After a confrontation with Jesinta
[To camera] “She kept going. And I just looked at her and I said, ‘Jesinta. What do you do when you see a rabid dog? Do you poke it? Or do you leave it alone?’ You need to leave me alone, before I possibly do something to you where you might never model again.’”
