Dianna Agron, Mia Wasikowska, Georgina Haig, Dominique McElligott up for Gwen Stacy Role in Spider-Man Reboot

Two Aussies Could Be Spider-Man’s High School Sweetheart

With news that Emma Stone will be offered the role of Mary Jane Watson in the Spider-Man reboot, attention has turned to who will portray Peter Parker’s high school girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, the love interest that is more likely to be included in the first film starring Andrew Garfield. Glee’s Dianna Agron is said to be the frontrunner, but the other three up for the role are Aussie actresses Mia Wasikowska and Georgina Haig (centre), and Irish actress Dominique McElligott. Mia was last seen in The Kids Are All Right and also starred as the titular character in Tim Burton’s blockbuster Alice in Wonderland. Georgina has been in episodes of Underbelly and Rescue Special Ops, and was recently at the Toronto Film Festival promoting her film Wasted on the Young. The role—which Bryce Dallas Howard played in Spider-Man 3—is a huge opportunity for whichever actress scores it. Who do you think should play Gwen Stacy?
