What would Hermione Granger say? Emma Watson, the actor of the popular, super-smart character from Harry Potter, posted a message on her official website to say that her university studies will temporarily be taking a back seat. She said:
As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible. I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree... it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : ) Hope you are all well! Thank you for all your continuing support. Emma xx
She must’ve had a change of heart from two years ago, when she said she wasn’t even sure she wanted to continue acting after filming on all the Harry Potter movies wrapped up. She’ll have plenty of promotion to do for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II and landed her first post-HP role in the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. If she ever needs some tips on how to maintain the work-study balance, perhaps she should ask James Franco — who is currently a graduate student at Yale University — for advice!
