The Final The Hunger Games Film, Mockingjay, Will Be Split Into Two and Screened One Year Apart

It's Official! The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Will Be Split Into Two Films

After the worldwide success of Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga, we had a sneaking suspicion the powers-at-be behind The Hunger Games might split the final film, Mockingjay, into two. And we were right! Set for release one year apart (sob), the first installment will hit cinemas in November, 2014, while part two while be released the following November, in 2015. The Hunger Games grossed nearly $680 million globally, so we're expecting big things from the remaining three films. Up next though? The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is due to start production with Francis Lawrence at the helm.
