Former Australian Idol Judge and Sony Music Executive Jay Dee Springbett Found Dead in Sydney

Breaking News: Jay Dee Springbett Found Dead in Sydney

Jay Dee Springbett has been found dead in a Sydney hotel room, reports the Daily Telegraph. He was 36. The English-born Sony music executive, who gained public recognition when he took the place of Kyle Sandilands as a judge on Australian Idol in 2009, was found unconscious in a Woolloomooloo hotel room yesterday afternoon, though a rep for NSW police said there was nothing suspicious about the death.

Jay Dee experienced some tough times in 2010 — there were reports that he and his partner, Louise McCole, had separated in April (they have two daughters together), and in November he was involved in a street brawl outside his Sydney office. Throughout his career he worked with artists such as Jessica Mauboy and the Rogue Traders.
