George Clooney was arrested in Washington DC on Friday. He was part of a group of demonstrators that also included his father, Nick, who gathered outside of the Sudanese embassy to bring attention to the country's humanitarian crisis. George's rep added that "they were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women, and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world."
George had been in the nation's capital all last week working toward this cause, after recently returning from his sixth trip to Sudan and South Sudan. He testified to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, had a meeting with President Obama, and held a press conference to bring light to the issue. George was released from jail after posting $100 bail. He joked of his time behind bars, "Really rough you can imagine . . . Have you ever been in a cell with these guys?"
